...Kimberly Hoefer April 29, 2015 Integrated Case Week 7 MGNT 5000- Webster University The principle of management control that I would recommend as the new Police chief is the bureaucratic control approach. The bureaucratic control uses rules, policies, authority, written documentation and reward systems to control the behavior and performance of the organization. Due to the severity of the issues that were address by the Mayor and city council the bureaucratic control approach will help streamline the system of rules and standards that will take place immediately. The process will help with standard of behavior for all department functions and employees. The ethical behavior has been a huge issue and will be the first thing that needs to be addressed. I would like to start with a town hall meeting for each department to address all the issues and concerns. I would also like to get suggestions from the department on how to turn around the negative reputation of the police officers, and how to create a positive outlook from the community regarding the police officers. By addressing the issues and concerns in individual departments it will help set the standards for every department. I would suggest reviewing the performance standards and set up new performance and rules for each police officer to follow within the department and while they are out on the streets serving the community. Performance will be measured by...

...Integrated Case 1 Strategy Webster University September 7, 2014 Papa Joe and the board of directors should proceed, as far as strategic planning for their organization, by attaining visibility on the best strategic five to ten year long term courses of action for the Great Italian Food Company. Maria’s course of action in expanding the business to other major cities in the Midwestern United States should be thought about by the board of directors as a highly desirable course of action that aligns with the company’s expansion strategy while staying concentrated with the Italian restaurant food industry business model. Additionally, Maria’s experience in strategic management will enhance the company’s ability to involve “managers from all parts of the organization in the formulation and implementation of strategic goals and strategies” (Brasfield, 2014, p. 138). Maria’s emphasis on the strategic planning process to systematically determine their future will make her suggestions well based while maintaining a concentrated strategy. Furthermore, solidifying gains and successes of the company in St. Louis could be incorporated into Papa Joe’s vision of having a celebrity endorse the business in the St. Louis area which will strengthen the Midwest expansion lines of effort. Offering the company’s signature frozen foods at their area restaurants would function to expand awareness and enhance the marketability...

...MAF 680 REPORT The problem faces by the Delima Enterprise Sdn. Bhd can be solve if the company implement some sort of internal control system in all activities. A system of internal control consists of policies and procedures designed to provide management with reasonable assurance that the company achieves its objectives and goals. Typically, there have three broad objectives in designing an effective internal control system, reliability of financial reporting, efficiency and effectiveness of operations and compliance with laws and regulations. Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is one of the internal control systems that can be implemented by the company. A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is a set of written instructions that document a routine or repetitive activity followed by an organization. The development and use of SOPs are an integral part of a successful quality system as it provides individuals with the information to perform a job properly, and facilitates consistency in the quality and integrity of a product or end-result. The term “SOP” may not always be appropriate and terms such as protocols, instructions, worksheets, and laboratory operating procedures may also be used. SOPs will detail the regularly recurring work processes that are to be conducted or followed within an organization. They document the way the activities are to be performed in order to facilitate consistent conformance to technical and quality system requirements and to support data quality...

...Describe and different between Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) : MICR and OCR are technologies increasingly being used in businesses these days. While OCR is Optical Character recognition. OCR is the recognition of printed or written text characters by a computer. It is the application software that allows a computer to recognize printed or written characters, e.g. letters, numbers, punctuation marks, and pictograms using an optical scanner for input. OCR is being used by libraries to digitize and preserve their holdings. MICR stands for Magnetic Ink Character recognition. It used primarily by the banking industry to facilitate the processing of cheques. The human readable characters are printed on documents using a magnetic ink. It stands for Magnetic Ink Character Recognition. Though these techniques have similarities and specific uses that differentiate between these two technologies. MICR MICR or My-ker as it is popularly known as is used in the banking industry in many countries of the world to ensure authenticity of a check or a demand draft using simple and inexpensive machines. The bottom line on these MICR checks is printed using a special magnetic ink. It is this ink that allows the information written on the check to be authenticated through machines. This facilitates processing of a huge number of checks in a single day which is otherwise very tedious. MICR typeface has only 14 characters in it including 0-9 and...

...Question 3 ------------------------------------------------- Could the Audit be completed soon without any qualification? From the financial perspective, discuss and recommend objectively the most appropriate solution for Delima Enterprise Sdn Bhd (DESB) financial management and operations. There are two possible answers to this question and the first is being “No, the audit could not be completed without any qualification.” However, the audit can be completed but with a qualified audit report. The few reasons behind the qualification of the audit report are as follows: 1. The sum of RM250,000 account receivables was wrongly entered into another account in the General Ledger. To make matters worse, several pages of account receivable listing were missing causing it even more difficult for the auditors to track the transaction movement. 2. There is a breach of accounting standards FRS119- Employee Benefits as EPF was not contributed by the employer or deducted from the employees. With this, there was a breach as EPF (Employees Provident Fund) falls under FRS119 which states that, post-employment benefits such as pensions, other retirement benefits, post-employment life insurance and post-employment medical care. Generally, a qualified audit report is issued when the auditor encountered one of two types of situations which do not comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), however the rest of the financial statements are fairly presented. A qualified...

...Integrated Case Study: Bandon Group Inc. John Wilson Dr. Ashley Johnson 7/31/13 The Bandon Group was founded in 1953, and is still a family own company that is a distributor of copiers, electronic printers, faxes and other equipment for mid market companies. The company’s has effectively competed with IBM and Xerox by offering mid tier equipment at competitive prices. Bandon Inc. has four divisions located in the western parts of the United States in states such as Salt Lake City, Arizona, Denver and Portland, where their corporate head quarters is located in Arizona (Sumner, 2005). Over time the Bandon Company’s sales became successful which allowed growth. Since splitting into four divisions, each division has tried different attempts to determine how a new Information Technology can improve the overall needs of the company. Each division attempted many different ways to implement its own Information Technology systems that the whole company could benefit from. The attempts were unsuccessful and caused errors with duplication, migration, data migration, technical support and training for four sales prospects and CRM solutions. Because of this it put the company at a disadvantage not allowing them to compete with the competition (Sumner, 2005). Step 1: Purpose and Scope of Study The purpose and scope of the Bandon Group Inc. case study is to identify a way that...

...Integrated Global Marketing Case Study Capella University MBA 6012 Integrated Global Marketing COMPANY Since 1971 Starbucks Coffee and Tea has set out to be a different kind of company. Starbucks started out as a single store in Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market with a narrow storefront and some of the world’s finest fresh-roasted whole bean coffees. In 1981 a customer named Howard Schultz walked into Starbucks and had his first cup of Sumatra coffee. From then on Schultz was drawn to the company and joined a year later. In 1987, with the help of some investors, Schultz purchased Starbucks. Schultz’s mission for the company was to inspire and nurture the human spirit. Today, Starbucks is located in 62 countries having over 18, 000 stores in the world. MARKETING BASE When Starbucks opened, they use an undistinguishable marketing strategy and created a mix as a single segment. The difficulty in using this strategy is developing a brand that to caters to all customers. Considering that Starbucks has superior quality and only a few base products, the company developed a target strategy that did not compromise quality and satisfied all customers through relationship marketing. The goal was to foster customer loyalty, interaction and, long-term engagement which are attributed through the company’s quality, product class, and prices. Products 1. ...Introduction to Microprocessor A microprocessor is a single chip integrating all the functions of a central processing unit (CPU) of a computer. It includes all the logical functions, data storage, timing functions and interaction with other peripheral devices. In some cases, the terms 'CPU' and 'microprocessor' are used interchangeably to denote the same device. Like every genuine engineering marvel, the microprocessor too has evolved through a series of improvements throughout the 20th century. A brief history of the device along with its functioning is described below. Its Working It is the central processing unit which coordinates all the functions of a computer. It generates timing signals, sends and receives data to and from every peripheral used inside or outside the computer. The commands required to do this are fed into the device in the form of current variations which are converted into meaningful instructions by the use of a Boolean Logic System. It divides its functions in two categories, logical functions and processing functions. The arithmetic and logical unit and the control unit handle these functions respectively. The information is communicated through a bunch of wires called buses. The address bus carries the 'address' of the location with which communication is desired while the data bus carries the data that is being exchanged. Arithmetic & Logic Unit (ALU) This part of the central processing unit deals with operations such as addition, subtraction...
