...Media Bias assignment Week 3 HUM/111 06/10/2012 GORSHA GALBRAITH Making critical evaluation is essential to understanding the underlying facts from media. The Travyon Martin & George Zimmerman case was well known issue in today’s society. Many news stations displayed Travyon depicted as an innocent boy and Zimmerman as a ruthless individual. The media facts were concerned with the entertainment and not the facts; it seemed like each news station was investigating the truth of story, but promoting Zimmerman as a prejudice blood thirsty killer. The Media used bias to depict each individual Travyon and Zimmerman, depending on the news station the media can make anyone seem like the villain in child’s story, the question to ask one’s self is this fair? There have been so many inaccurate information in the new media who can keep track of the assumption and misleading information; some of the information cannot place the role of Zimmerman in the event of the shooting. I believing reading between the lines in any media story or reading a book is essential, if the person and media don’t gather enough Intel it the new article or information is invalid cannot live up as facts, but most individuals don’t read between the media words of facts, not everything is the truth, the truth is whatever sound reasonable in the sake of inaccuracies errors, or bias statement in the media. Long story short, the media will entertain, post valid Intel from time to time, but not all the Intel from the...

A graphic designer needs a fast processor, fast Ram and lots of it. If you choose a large hard drive you can work with big files. A large high quality monitor is beneficial. You have the ability to display the tabs all on one screen without eating into the design. It would have to be a desktop. They don’t make Laptop with large screens 21 inches and bigger. An educator doesn’t really need any special advanced hardware. I believe any normal computer works for an educator. I guess it is a user preference how fast the individual wants the computer to be, how much storage space he or she would need, and how much money is being spent. Again it depends what the educator prefers mobile portable Laptop or a stationary desktop. The movie maker computer needs a fast processor lots of RAM to run all the different programs simultaneously a movie maker needs. The movie maker would need a lot of storage to be able to store all the movie files that take up a lot of...

...Taking Charge of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (A) John School of Business/ Department of Organizational Leadership 02/25/2008 Taking Charge of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (A)/ Paul Levy Introduction /Background In 1916 the Beth Israel Hospital was formed in the Boston area mainly because Jewish doctors wanted a hospital they could perform their practice. At the time Jewish doctors were dismissed at the notion of being able to work at local hospitals in the area. The financing of the BI Hospital derived from the Jewish communities donations. Millions of dollars were donated in order to create an upper class academic medical center that was known not only for the quality of its research and teaching but also for the quality of its care. As time went on capitalism showed its face by driving the local Boston hospital’s to want more market share in their geographic locations. A Dean of Harvard Business School by the name of John McArthur organized a session in which he proposed the Brigham Hospital merge with the Massachusetts General Hospital to create a new organization called Partners Healthcare System. None of the surrounding hospitals in the area were notified when the decision to go ahead with the plan was made. Not only was the merger established because of the growth of market share but the organization would be able to capture a bigger portion of the market and therefore have a greater influence on the insurance companies and...

For each explanation I am looking for a ‘complete story’ supported (wherever possible) by facts and analyses based on the data from the case. (10 marks) 2. In 2004, Dell was one of the 'stars' of the computer industry, yet just over five years later it appeared to be struggling. Again using the tools and concepts we have been employing throughout the term, I would like you to speculate on what are the most likely explanations for their ‘decline’. Again I want you to support your arguments wherever possible with facts and analyses based on the data from the case. (10 marks) 3. Building on your analyses above, I would like you to give me a quick assessment of the main alternatives you believe Dell Inc should have considered (in 2010) to 'revitalize' their computer business over the next 5-10 years (and why), and which option would you have recommended to the senior management? (5 marks) Key Points: * Page 2: open architecture. * IBM used its huge sales force to sell PCs to large corporate accounts. * Small business and individuals – IBM used retailers such as Sears * Value – added Resellers * Dell incorporated 1984 ( IBM clone ) * IBM –declined and then accepted –Intel’s 386 chip (1985-...

...Human Sexuality Assignment At its core, Great By Choice is a deep exploration of what distinguishes top performers from their peers during times of chaos, crisis, instability and uncertainty. Rigorous in its approach but practical in its presentation, Great By Choice to me seems like the perfect handbook for college seniors such as myself. In tackling the question of what distinguishes top performers in times of uncertainty, the authors first define what exactly a top performer is and then highlights the three key ingredients that these individuals were discovered to possess. 10Xers are leaders who built companies that started from a position of vulnerability, rose to beat their respective industries by at least 10 times, and did so in the midst of instability, crisis, and uncertainty. They are characterized by three behaviors: fanatic discipline, empirical creativity and productive paranoia. Towards the end of the book, the authors also explore luck and how much of an influence it has on successful or unsuccessful outcomes. They hone in on the notion of return on luck, arguing that fortune is but one variable in the equation of success. “Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure.” –George Edward Woodberry What is success? And more importantly how does one obtain it? Some would be surprised to know that some of the greatest success stories came only after a myriad of failures. But it is no surprise that the recipe for success is a complicated...
