Structural Macro Model

...com 9874630182 Abstract: We construct an effective demand model involving interaction between the real sector and the financial sector. The commodity market is imperfect. We explain price stickiness in terms of Kaleckian Mark-up pricing. The financial assets are money, government bonds and a risky asset, say equity or stock. The model is an extension of Krugman’s model of international financial multiplier and the model can explain not only the fall in asset prices but also its recessionary consequences. The paper also contains policy recommendations to overcome the financial meltdown. JEL Classification: E60, E61. Keywords: Mark-up pricing, financial meltdown, effective demand. Section 1: Introduction The global financial system is currently in meltdown. Stock markets have been falling most days, money markets and credit markets have shut down as their interest-rate spreads skyrocket, and it is still too early to tell whether the raft of measures adopted by the US and Europe will stem the bleeding on a sustained basis. A generalized run on the banking system has been a source of fear for the first time in seven decades, while the shadow banking system - broker-dealers, non-bank mortgage lenders, structured investment vehicles and conduits, hedge funds, money market funds, and private equity firms - are at risk of a run on their short-term liabilities. On the real economic side, all the advanced economies - representing 55 per cent of global GDP - entered a recession...

...MACRO AND MICRO ENVIRONMENT ANALYSIS FOR NINTENDO Macro Environment Macro environment is said to be the most general layer of the environment. This consists of broad environmental factors that have an impact on the organisation. The PESTEL framework helps us to identify the future trends which might impinge on Nintendo and therefore identify the key drivers of change. On the other hand the five forces framework helps to understand how the competitive dynamics within and around the video game industry are changing. The two frameworks are discussed below: PESTEL Framework: This categorises environmental influences into six main types, namely: political, economic, social, technological, environmental and legal. A PESTEL analysis on the video game industry is carried out below: Political: Factors such as taxation policies, foreign trade regulations and social welfare policies influence the video game industry. Macro Economics

...The Nature and Scope of Macroeconomics by Smriti Chand Macro Economics The Nature and Scope of Macroeconomics! Introduction: The term ‘macro’ was first used in economics by Ragner Frisch in 1933. But as a methodological approach to economic problems, it originated with the Mercantilists in the 16th and 17th centuries. They were concerned with the economic system as a whole. In the 18th century, the Physiocrats adopted it in their Table Economies to show the ‘circulation of wealth’ (i.e., the net product) among the three classes represented by farmers, landowners and the sterile class. Malthus, Sismondi and Marx in the 19th century dealt with macroeconomic problems. Walras, Wicksell and Fisher were the modern contributors to the development of macroeconomic analysis before Keynes. Certain economists, like Cassel, Marshall, Pigou, Robertson, Hayek and Hawtrey, developed a theory of money and general prices in the decade following the First World War. But credit goes to Keynes who finally developed a general theory of income, output and employment in the wake of the Great Depression. Leader

...Toward a Conceptual Model of Global Leadership Jose Mathews* In the globalized world, global organizations have to contend with global leaders, and no easy parallel can be found between domestic and global leaderships. In relation to these perspectives and the contextual elements of global business environment, a model of global leadership is derived. The key content variables of global leadership are explained in the realms of cognitive complexity, emotional resilience, cultural intelligence, motivational processes and related facets which interact with the global business environment. Introduction In organizational behavior, leadership appears to be the most researched, debated and discussed topic, and researchers have analyzed what leaders are like, what they do, how they are effective, what are the conditions/situations that make them effective, how do they bring about changes among the followers, the styles of their interactions with the followers and how they go about achieving their individual, group and organizational goals (George, 2000). The traditional focus of leadership is the organization that operates within a limited boundary. Global Citizenship Research Paper

...Global citizenship encompasses social, cultural, political and economic change. Being a global citizen means taking a more socially conscious view of the world by focussing on events beyond our borders. For instance how consumerism in our country may be satiated by slave labour in another country or why universal human rights should not be the privilege of citizens in first world democracies, but that of everyone around the globe. None of this is more apparent in the case of the Nigerian political activist Ken Saro-Wiwa, who fought against the exploitation of the Ogoni people by the Nigerian government. The authorities were selling away tribal land rights to oil companies like the Dutch owned Shell, which in turn was trying to keep up with America’s oil demands. Saro-Wiwa was later executed by the Nigerian...
