They provided major specific rooms with various speakers who talked about how they found their internship, their experiences there, what they enjoyed and learned, and any advice they have for freshman those interested in interning. I went to a biology focused discussion group and listened to Shannon Brumbaugh- Altoona Family Physicians, Gayle Gottlieb- Dental Assistant, Elijah Hall- IE in Boulder through REU in the mountains, Mark Lee- Spanish Emersion at a local hospital in Orizaba, Mexico, and Kelsey Pfau- Research in Neonatology. I actually enjoyed hearing their brief overview of their experiences and feel more interested in applying for an internship in the future. They informed us that two of the best ways to become informed about internship opportunities were through Career Services in the Ellis basement and email networking. After the event, I did receive an email from Lindsey Levy with Health Professions regarding upcoming opportunities. One of the listed internships from the email was Altoona Family Physicians.
