September 14, 2011 * How would you effectively present the issue of potentially defective products to the CEO, other directors, and managers? * How would you specifically notify customers of such an occurrence? * What kind of internal actions would you take to prevent future problems? * What can be done to ensure that a strong sense of business ethics permeates your company?

The question here is how to present the issue of potentially defective products to the CEO, and other directors, and managers. First, I would have a private meeting with the CEO and without beating around the bush; I would just let him know about this product, and from a customer point of view how bad this would look on his company, not to mention the potential lawsuit, or the bad reputation this product could cause the company.
At the meeting the CEO would ask me to speak on the issue, to which I would again go into details about the potentially defectiveness of the product and the harm it can cause customers, not to mention serious injuries. I would then go on to let explain to them that if this product goes out in the market, the company could become liable, as so much customers would be suing the company, to which I would explain to them that we cant have that, as that would tarnish the good reputation that the company has build.
Now let us say someone in the company knows what is going on, this would not be the time to point fingers, as the problem at hand is to get a grip on the situation. The first thing that I would suggest they do is notify the press and have a press conference notifying customers of the potentially defective product, blame it on someone, but definitely not the company, as this would make them look really bad, because then it would appear that the company already knew, but
