Q1) Who are my Search Engine Optimization competitors?

In this paper, I decide my own online company is going to sell mobile phone. Therefore, the keyword phrase will be “mobile phone”. The first search engine I used is Google.

By searching mobile phone, “mobile phone” and intitle:mobile phone in Google, we can see that the main SEO competitors can be commonly found are the followings:

reviews.cnet.com/cell-phones/ www.expansys.com.hk/mobile -phones/ www.sharp-phone.com/ www.samsung.com/hk_en/consumer/mobile/mobile-phones/ For the second search engine, Yahoo was chosen.

I also tried to search mobile phone, “mobile phone” and intitle:mobile phone on Yahoo. And the followings are the commonly competitors found on Yahoo.

www.dcfever.com/phones/database.php www.price.com.hk/shop.php?s=485 www.google.com/mobile www.samsung.com/us/mobile To conclude, by entering intitle before the keyword phrase will usually reduce the number of common search results. In addition, the results found in these two search engines are quite different. This may be due to yahoo always show the Chinese website even when I search by using English keyword phrase. We can only see Samsung appears on both two engines.

Q2) What web page components are useful in Search Engine Optimization?

For this question, I used Google as the search engine and mobile phone as the keyword phrase. According to the appendix, I did an analysis on the first 10 webpages that found on Google by search mobile phone.

After looking at the analysis result, we can see that the most important web page component should be the title tag of the website. The title tags for the web pages from 1st to 8th in the appendix all include the keyword phrase mobile phone. For example, the 1st webpage title tag is <title>Cell phone reviews: Cell phones, mobile phones
