In the novel Flush, Carl Hiaasen used revealing actions in order to introduce characters. In the beginning of the story, the beginning setting is in jail with Noah coming to visit his dad. An example of how they use revealing action to introduce characters in when Noah says “That’s because you sunk his boat”. In this passage, Noah was talking to his dad on father's day referring to how his dad sunk the Coral queen a gambling boat owned by Dusty Muleman. The author Carl Hiaasen tries to portray Paine (Noah’s dad) as an antagonist because they tell you why he did it of course because of illegal dumping, but no one believes him. He does this to later surprise you with the fact that some people actually knew about the dumping that polluted Thunder
