In the book, Into The Wild, Chris McCandless, also named Alex Supertramp, showed many qualities that could compare to other real world people. Throughout the book Chris portrayed many different attitudes and actions that could help us compare/contrast to another person. I think Chris could be easily compared, but also contrasted to, Nelson Mandela. First, McCandless and Mandela stepped out of society to do what they wanted. Both were passionate in what they wanted to do. For Chris, he wanted to live in the wild, for Nelson Mandela, he fought for human rights in South Africa.
