In order to compete with Facebook “Google has to make the permission and privacy settings more tractable and easier to manipulate” (Beer) Says Senior Forrester Research analyst Josh Bernoff. Google is definitely succeeding in making this possible with its shorter privacy settings at only 1,000 words compared to Facebook’s 6,000 and with easier wording and terms the average person is able to understand it without having to be a computer genius. Another advantage of Google+ is that it does not take “your interests” from your profile and create ads all over the page. Sources say that eventually there will...

...FACEBOOK ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES Introduction Social media have taken the world by storm. Some of the effects of social media are positive, and others are negative. February 2004 was the dawn of social media like never before. It is reported that Facebook currently has more than 1 billion active users which is more than the number of people who live in the US, about three times more. So is Facebook good, great, bad, or terrible? Advantages Facebook allows people to connect with friends and relatives who live far away. With new features, such as video, voice, and calling features, communicating with friends and family has never been easier. Opening a business is difficult, but with Facebook, it can be easier than you may have thought. Facebook allows business owners to create a business Facebook page to gain more customers and expand their business. With Facebook business, you can expand your customer base by advertising on Facebook and entice people to try your product or services. Disadvantages On the other hand there are a lot of concerns regarding Facebook, and in my opinion privacy is the biggest concern. Anything and everything someone posts on the Internet will end up being seen by others. If you are not prepared for the world to see the things you post, it is in your best interest to leave it off of Facebook. In addition to this, you need to familiarize yourself with Facebook’s privacy settings and how they alter your account. Facebook has worked continuously...
