As any corporation grows and makes the decision to expand globally there are several areas within the management team that needs preparation. Most concerning is the training in multiculturalism and diversity also to include political and economic concerns that may arise during the expansion. Training in these areas will be vital to the life span of a global expansion. Often when one looks at the comparison of cultures many overlook important key facts. While understanding the culture is a great step it is not nearly enough in the terms of a successful global expansion. When an organization opens their doors in a foreign country the parent company must make changes (Sweeney, Eamonn P. and Hardaker, Glenn. 1995). It is not to say that they entire structure must change but you have to incorporate the culture around you. What works in the parent country will most defiantly not work in the host country.
As a foreign country begins to feel the effects of a global company expansion there are several areas in which they must prepare themselves. It will be important for the country to be able to support the needs of this expansion in terms of technology, employees and the big question will the host country be able to handle the new flow of product or service through their economic state (Sweeney, Eamonn P. and Hardaker, Glenn. 1995)..
With in international / multinational and global organizations there will always be cultural barriers and diversity issues that arise. Every country has certain cultures that exist. These cultures play a factor and can determine how situations are handled. Ones culture reflects in almost all aspects of their life, values, attitudes and ideas shape human behavior and can be conscious or unconscious.
