Along with her husband she was a teacher she was involved in the teachers union. During Isabel Peron's presidency, she witness violence and the disappearance of other colleagues as the economy was financially affecting her family. She and and her husband worked hard for their children to have an education; she was a mother of three and during the coup of 1976 the university where her children attended was affected with the reduction of speech and expression on the campus and several of the students began to disappear from school and were told they were detained.
While riding his bike Jorge Becerra, Elsa de Becerras son, suffered an accident; his friend took him to the hospital in his van. Without carrying an identification card he was arrested.
