The three expectations for appropriate classroom behavior for young children is How to enter the classroom at the start of each day Putting their things away in its proper place Been seat in there assign seat Therefore the example is considered as, Ron enters the class and went straight to the aquarium and didn’t put his things in their proper place and came late to the circle. Ron is sprawling all over the carpet making noises as he was been distracted and unsettle and that is because he didn’t get the chance to settle in with the rest of the children on Monday. Because he was late as he was transferred from another school district in mid October. ...Ranch Golf Club Case Study The Ranch Golf Club opened in 2001 in Southwick, Massachusetts. The Hall family decided to turn their dairy farm into a golf club. They would provide their land, while they enlisted the help of Rowland Bates to coordinate the project. Bates found investors to provide the capital and they started work. The investors were Peter and Korby Clark, Bernard Chiu, and Ronald Izen. It is the Ranch’s goal to be the best golf club in New England. In 2007, the Ranch Golf Club was ranked as the number one best public golf course in Massachusetts. Communication is important in any aspect of life, especially in managing a business. Without clear communication the managers at The Ranch would be unsure of expectations. Communication is not a one-time thing; it must be continual in order to be effective. Communication involves a give and take. To communicate you cannot just talk; there has to be giving and receiving, or feedback. According to Lussier and Achua, feedback is “the process of verifying messages and determining if objectives are being met” (Lussier & Achua, p. 197). As it says in the case study, “Nothing takes the place of sitting down face-to-face during regular weekly meetings and listening to each other to continually improve operations” (Lussier & Achua, p. 197). As manager of The Ranch, Peter Clark must be prepared to receive feedback, which is critical for success. Management at The Ranch uses feedback to ensure “the players are getting service...

...Student Perceptions of the Causes of Low Performance in Principles of Accounting: A Case Study in Saudi Arabia SULAYMAN H. ATIEH (*) Associate Professor of Accounting Department of Accounting and Management Information Systems College of Industrial Management King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals Dhahran, Saudi Arabia ABSTRACT. Students at KFUPM in Saudi Arabia were surveyed to determine what they consider to be the major obstacles to successfully completing the two required courses in Principles of Accounting. The students were categorized as either accounting majors or non-accounting majors and were offered 26 potential obstacles plus one open-ended question. The study showed that the most significant obstacle was the negative attitude of students towards accounting as a difficult subject. Differences in responses of the two student groups occurred for only three of the listed obstacles, none of which were considered significant by either group. There was no correlation between the GPAs of the respondents and their views on the 26 obstacles. A comparison of the findings of this study and those of previous research is also discussed. All students in the College of Industrial Management (CIM) at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia are required to take two courses in Principles of Accounting. The courses are designated as Acct 201 and Acct 202 and they are taught during the somophere year in fully coordinated sections...

...different because they do not carry voting rights, but entitled to get a certain level of dividend payment before the divided can be provided to the shareholders. Just like any other forms of investments stocks have their own advantages and disadvantages. Stock trading represents one of the traditional methods of investing. It is the process by which stocks issued by companies are bought and sold to raise capital. The shareholder is entitled to the profit received by the company depending on the percentage his or her ownership. One of the main advantages of stocks is that they provide a great opportunity to get greater returns. This happens because as the company grows, the value of the stocks also increases (Mayers, 2004, pp 201-206). In case an investor selects the right company to invest in its stocks, there are high chances of getting great profit because of the characteristics of the market to move upwards. High...

They have created a possible explanation for these occurrences, one theory involving quantum physics as related to the human consciousness. The conducted research seeks an explanation for seemingly impossible events as believed by the...

...This Case study is an example of what happens when life gets in the way. Mr. Rogers originally called a meeting with Jeff Dean and Celeste Brown to go over any questions the Mr. Dean had in regards to the survey findings. Mr. Rogers had to excuse himself from the meeting for personal reasons and instructed Ms. Brown to find out what questions Mr. Dean had. He then instructed her to run the analysis and they would go over the results the following day. Ms. Brown ended up with six questions that Mr. Dean was especially interested in. (Burns, A., Bush, R. (2006) p518) The problem with this case study is even though Ms. Brown may be a competent employee she isn’t Mr. Rogers. Mr. Rogers called the meeting and has his own agenda in regards to the survey findings. Unless Mr. Brown and Mr. Rogers are on the exact same page she may not be able to determine the right questions that Mr. Dean may ask: furthermore, her analysis may be in complete depending on what information she has taken form Mr. Dean. Mr. Rogers should have rescheduled the meeting so that he could ensure all pertinent areas regarding the results of the survey and questions were adequately addressed. The strengths of this case are apparent in that it is assumed that Ms. Brown has a good understanding of what Mr. Rogers wants. If she is able to accurately gather the information from Mr. Dean in regards to his concerns about the survey, then her analysis should be accurate: however this will not be known...

...a production of 435 million metric tons (MT) in 2011 -201 2. There is significant pressure on CIL to deliver annual production growth rates in excess of 7%. The company has a 201 7 production target of 61 5 MT.[1 ] Coal India’s track record raises questions over its ability to deliver this rate of growth. In addition, serious governance issues are likely to impact CIL’s financial performance. These pose a financial and reputational risk to CIL, its shareholders and lenders, while macroeconomic issues in the Indian energy economy pose a long term threat to Coal India. • CIL’s attempts to access new mining areas are facing widespread opposition from local communities and environmental groups. With its reliance on open-pit mining, access to new mines are essential for CIL to achieve production targets. • CIL has grown reliant on shallow, open pit mining for 90% of its production, and has lost in-house expertise on deep mining techniques. • CIL has a record of poor corporate governance, manifested in rampant corruption, poor worker safety and repeated legal violations. This has, in the last year alone, led to penalties and closure notices for over 50 mines, threatening both its financial performance and reputation. • CIL’s financial performance has been affected by directives from majority shareholder Government of India to keep coal prices artifically low.[2] According to one estimate, this cost CIL $1 .75 billion in the 201 2-1 3 financial year alone.[3] The government has also...

...University Calendar, and are available on the WEB. In any discussions or negotiations about fees, it will be assumed that a student and his/her other funder have made themselves aware of the provisions of this section and of the equivalent fees schedule. While the University attempts to keep fees as low as possible, student fees usually increase annually by approximately 10% per annum. Ignorance of the fees payable does not provide grounds for avoiding liability for any fees due and payable. Alteration of fees The University Council reserves the right to alter all fees payable to the University, or to impose a fees surcharge if circumstances require it. In the case of an alteration of fees or the imposition of a fees surcharge, notice will be sent to all registered students. Nonreceipt of such a notice does not provide grounds for avoiding liability for the contents of the notice. Arrears Any student whose fees are not paid by the due dates or who has...

Basic Theoretical Issues Issue 1: Is Development Active or Reactive? Issue 2: Is Development Continuous or Discontinuous? Theoretical Perspectives * Theories are never “set in stone”; they are always open to change as a result of new findings? * Children shape their world as it shapes them? * Cross-cultural research enables us to determine which aspects of development are universal and which are culturally influenced? * An experiment is the most definitive way to demonstrate that one event causes another? * The results of laboratory experiments may be less applicable to real life than experiments carried out in a home, school, or public setting? These are just a few of the interesting and important topics we will cover in this chapter. Here, we present an overview both of major theories of human development and of research methods used to study it. In the first part of the chapter, we explore major issues and theoretical perspectives that...

...sovereignty in a colonial area, such as the British HEIC or the Dutch VOC. These companies operate as a major state within a state with its own armed forces. There can also be non-political governors: high ranking officials in private or similar governance such as commercial and non-profit management, styled governor(s), who simply govern an institution, such as a corporation or a bank. For example, in the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth countries there are prison governors ("warden" in the United States), school governors and bank governors. The Role of a Governor is different with respect to different Constitutions. In case of the Republic Nations, the role of the Governor may have different connotations. The role is generally classified into two sub roles. They are: 1. The Constitutional role and 2. The Ceremonial role. The object of this study is to understand both the forms of roles and...
