Dirt Bike Recommendations

The concerns presented by Dirt Bike’s management regarding the cost of communication and keeping up with the latest industry developments can be easily solved by getting rid of outdated modes of communication and investing in current technology. In order to take advantage of new technology management may have to upgrade the current computer system to be compatible with current software. The company should take a look into the advantages of Intranet. Intranet is like the Internet except that it is a private and protected network for use by employees only. The use of Intranet will help to increase employee productivity by allowing them to access information faster. Being able to access information faster will help to improve customer service from the Sales and Marketing departments. If Dirt Bike also uses a Web browser interface employees can access data in the database from any workstation allowing them to perform their jobs more accurately and efficiently. Intranets are also a good tool to improve communication within an organization. Each department will be able to be kept up-to-date on current information, strategies and decisions. Salesmen would be able to post leads, share product information and training videos. HR would be able to store documents like handbooks, insurance benefit changes, sales and marketing strategies, company policies and so much more. The marketing department would be able to post the latest marketing trends and advertising information. All of these things not only save time but money too. Intranet is also cost effective because there is no need to maintain and print physical documents. Intranets are inexpensive to implement and run. Since Dirt Bike is already equipped to connect to the Internet there will probably be no need to buy new equipment. The only thing that may need to be

Internet Tools at Dirt Bikes

...Internet Tools at Dirt Bikes Kimula Busby IT/205 04/18/2012 Coranette Square I will be investigating how Internet tools and technology could be used to help Dirt Bikes’ employees communicate and obtain information more efficiently. Dirt Bikes provide internet access to all employees who use desktop computers. The first option recommended is that Limiting Internet usage within the company to Zero Tolerance for employees or departments that do not have a direct need for it would be cost efficient. The second option is Internet access to all employees with different levels of permission granted. It would be cost efficient because it would increase bandwidth allowing important information to be sent and retrieved faster. It would also limit possible viruses, worms, and spyware that could affect Dirt Bikes in a financially negative way. With a Intranet systems installing firewalls would help prevent Dirt Bikes confidential information and antivirus protections to deter hackers to the system are also recommended to protect against security breaches. A recommendation would be Dirt Bikes installing a LAN (local area network) connecting all of their computers so that files could be shared between different PCs used in all of the departments as a source of communication. All of the departments would benefits from the Intranet in various ways. Paper is costly and often wasted by using Intranets Dirt Bikes will be able to store information on servers this would reduce...

Iinternet Tools at Dirt Bikes

...Internet Tools at Dirt Bikes IT/205 July 3, 2012 Lo Li Internet Tools at Dirt Bikes Dirt Bike’s management has a concern about how much money is spent on communicating with people inside and outside the organization and obtaining information about developments in the motorcycle industry and the global economy. I am investigating the introduction to an intranet system and how Internet tools and technology could be used to help Dirt Bikes’ employees communicate and obtain information more efficiently by providing recommendations of various Internet tools that could be used to help those in the Dirt Bikes’ company be productive and ultimately try to save them money. Recommendations Since many of the staff already has a computer it means that they can be hooked up to have access to the Internet to perform better on the different tasks that the job include. I would recommend creating a secure and private network called an intranet that can allow an organization to have a network that is protected and private. The intranet helps to keep the information safe by using firewalls to block out the public from gaining access to the company’s private information. A firewall is a form of protection software installed in the computers to create a block on the system to keep the company’s private networks from outsiders. This can be synced to the network infrastructure the company is already using along with an Internet network such a wide-area network (WAN). This will increase the...

Dirt Bikes

...APA Alan Jankewicz 205 12152012 Dorch APA After evaluating the Dirt Bikes organization, I recommend the following solutions: Since the Dirt Bikes organization already provides Internet access to all employees who use desktop computers, it would be beneficial to create a private network by using the existing network infrastructure paired up with Internet connectivity standards and software developed for the World Wide Web (WWW). According to Laudon and Laudon (2009), Internet networking standards and Web technology used to create private networks are called intranets. An intranet is private and secure and is protected by a firewall which prevents unauthorized individuals from entering the network. Intranet software technology and that of the WWW is the same. Having quick access to accurate information can be vital to a sales and marketing department. The sales and marketing department could benefit from using an intranet by being able to look up sales reports, product information, marketing analysis, and researching competitors are just one click away. The human resources department could benefit from having an intranet because they could eliminate using large amounts of paper. The human resources department could upload employee handbooks, benefits information, job listings and applications, newsletters, and new employee interactive training, as well as other information that would save paper costs. The manufacturing and production departments could benefit from...

Individual-Internet Tools at Dirt Bikes

...Individual-Internet Tools at Dirt Bikes IT / 205 – Management of Information Systems The management at Dirt Bikes is concerned with how much is being spent on communication with people regarding the developments in the motorcycle industry and global economy. A potential alternative to how they are communicating today is making the internet their primary source of how they research, communicate and market their business. The assessment will conclude what would be more of a savings for the company, provide a recommendation of how Dirt Bikes can benefit from what the proposal, provide at least two tools that would be helpful and provide the benefit to the organization of wireless access to employees. Today Dirt Bikes may be losing potential customers and not obtaining the up to date information because the internet is not their primary source of data. Based on my assessment using the internet will help Dirt Bikes find information about the global economy and the motor cycle industry on a global scale. This assessment discovered problems already existing in Dirt Bike's communications and information retrieval systems, the proposal will provide the best solutions. It will analyze the kind of internet tools and technologies that best benefit both the company, its employees, and meet all of their stated current and projected future needs. This paper will attempt to go over intranet systems, as well as other methods that the company can use to meets...

Try to rewrite this without using "being"--with action words like "attending," "working," "living," "experiencing," simply "as"--or even removing "being" completely] spent on their internal and external communication and obtaining information on the subject of developments in both the motorcycle industry and global economy. At the company’s request, I will investigate Dirt Bike’s concerns and provide recommendations for how the organization could use Internet tools and technology to help employees better communicate with one another and obtain information more efficiently. Verbal Communication Paper

...Internet Tools at Dirt Bikes Keith B. Fuller Sunday February 20, 2011 IT/205 Mark Cherry Internet Tools at Dirt Bikes One concern on the Dirt Bike management is the cost of their communication processes, and information collection, especially due to the many changes happening in the world economy. The motorcycle business is one of those that will be affected by these changes. Before this concern is addressed, a thorough analysis of the recent communication and information retrieval processes of the company will be performed, in order to come up with the most appropriate IT systems to be incorporated in the company. With the analysis, the right communication and information tools can be chosen properly, in order to cater to the productivity and profitability needs of the company. Some system tools that will be certainly used are intranet, VOIP, wired and wireless data networks. Before incorporating all of those, the management still had to be consulted to decide whether they are willing to spend for those system requirements. Considering the initial analysis produced on the Dirt Bike information system, it was discovered they are already providing their employees with desktop computers that have Internet connections. This is still not enough in creating a smoother and faster information flow in the organization, increasing the productivity of the employers, and providing better access for the real time changes happening in the motorbike industry. From the resources...

Dirt Bikes

...Dirt Bikes IT/205 February 12, 2012 Dirt Bikes In reviewing the information available regarding Dirt Bikes’ operating system, there are a few recommendations that will help the organization improve their communication and costs. Starting with incorporating a local area network (LAN) would allow a better line of communication between each employee, as well as able to obtain information more efficiently. Building an intranet system will support the organization in allowing employees to access information stored from a central depository such as a database server. Dirt Bikes’ can also implement a Voice over IP system. The first recommendation is for Dirt Bikes’ to introduce a local area network to allow all the computers to communicate with one another all with in the same network. Creating a local area network in a star topology format will let all the computers flow through one hub, so that if one computer loses connection it does not affect the rest of the systems. The company should use a copper medium, such as a twisted wire cable to allow transmission between different network elements within the local area network. Building a local-area network and connecting it to the Internet will provide access to remote locations and wide area networks (WAN) to reach a global area. Introducing a server that is available on the intranet would benefit all the departments by introducing a central depository of information easily accessible and will help with the sharing of...
