CheckPoint: Formatting Issues
After reviewing the article by Tim Nott, “Words and Pictures”, and determining what are some business uses for inserting a canvas within a MS word document, I have concluded that despite the fact that MS word is not a desktop publishing operating program, likes its competition Adobe Photoshop, you are still able to integrate pictures and words easily. Several options are available, when it comes down to creating, a “canvas”. Based on the particular type of content that is being inserted, individuals will be able to implement bitmapped pictures, like a screenshot and come up with various drawing that can be relocated separately, and insert files or folders instead of copying and pasting them. Furthermore, the reason for creating a canvas in MS word documents is for annotating a picture with a callout. This particular type of option is what is used by most businesses. A strategy used to overcome formatting issues, in this particular case annotating a picture with a callout, it can easily be resolved by placing your cursor in the area in which you are wanting to insert the callout box, hit the (alt) key, (when doing this labels on all icons, of each of the letters that represent a specific action will appear, N, and M in this case). A box will appear on the screen called “SmartArt Graphic Box”, and from here you can simply use the arrow keys to select the picture that you want. Once you have selected the picture, hit the tab key to move the layout task pane, where you want it and then hit ENTER. There, now you are done, as simple as
