DQ2 –How do you use the three basic control structures—sequential, repetition, and selection—in your everyday problem solving? Do you think there are any other control structures that would make your problem-solving skills more efficient? If so, describe them.

The control structures are used to solve the real world problems in well-structured manner. And these basic control structures- sequential, repetition, and selection are used in our day-to-day life to solve various problems. The sequential control structure is the simplest of the three structures; it is a program segment where statements are executed in sequence, one after the other. In selection, the program executes particular statements depending on some condition(s). In repetition, the program executed over and over while some condition remains true.

For example, if I want to check the my email, I use these control structure as, first of all I start the computer, login to the computer, start the modem, start the web browser, type the URL, enter the login id and password and now I am able to see my inbox. These all step are proceeding one after another, so I am using the sequential structure.

And after the account login if I am checking the most urgent email first, then I am doing the selection (use of the selection structure) and now if I want to check all the emails one after another in repetitive manner then I am using the repetition control structure.

I don’t think so that there would be any other control structures are available other then these three basic control structures, indirectly these basic control structures are used to solve our everyday
