method
The part of a class definition that implements some of the behavior of objects of the class. The body of the method contains declarations of local variables and statements to implement the behavior. A method receives input via its arguments, if any, and may return a result if it has not been declared as void.

argument
Information passed to a method. Arguments are also sometimes called parameters. A method expecting to receive arguments must contain a formal argument declaration for each as part of its method header. When a method is called, the actual argument values are copied into the corresponding formal arguments.

The core element of a method with multiple parameters is defining each parameter properly, and then building a method that utilizes the information in the parameters in a way that is important and functional for the application at hand.

In the above example the basic “digits and info” that one might gain from a colleague, friend, or cute girl at the local bar can be seen as a string method called getinfo, with the parameters of name, address, and phonenumber (all also Strings). Then the information can be returned as information to the destination of your choice. Perhaps into a file of contact info, or a contact list for your new band.
