...8. C The explanation that I came up with is that the network address is 150.50.0.0 which is originally assigned as a class B. So it has a default subnet mask of 255.255.0.0. Then you want to divide the network into seven different subnets and only the network address 255.255.240.0 is the one that provides enough networks because it will provide 14 subnets. 9. C The explanation for this one that I came up with is that the network address 209.168.19.0 is originally assigned as a class C address because it has a default subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. You would need to divide this address space into four subnets and maximize the number of host addresses per subnet. You would do this by using 255.255.255.224 which would give you 6 subnets. Each subnet will have 30 host addresses available. The other answers to this question do not provide enough subnets and do not have 30 or more host addresses. 23. A The ping uses ICMP echo packets to send to a host that reports if an echo reply is received or not. If indeed the echo reply is received then the host is working and operating correctly on the network. The other answers to this question are not correct because ARP resolves MAC addresses to IP addresses. This is done through the use of broadcasts which are not publicized across the Internet. DNS is used to resolve a domain name to an IP address and it does not send communication directly to a network host. WINS does not support the most Unix machines and provides windows to a computer...

...Case Study Critique Through the years the news has reported on several cases similar to the Jackson case. Each time this kind of neglect case is brought to light the public often wonders what happened. The most difficult part of this case is that the children were so malnourished they were not even growing at an average rate for children of their age. How could this have gone on for so long? With the amount of cases that social workers have it is a wonder that they catch any of these neglect cases. The social services system is bogged down with work that each social worker carries a heavy case load and, unfortunately, this means that things go unnoticed. I feel that it is entirely possible that the case workers were asking the right questions however; maybe the parents had all of the right answers as well. When there was no food in the refrigerator maybe they simply explained that they needed to go grocery shopping and had not had time yet. A social worker does not have enough time to figure out who is lying and who is not. Although a social workers main concern is the welfare of the children, they also have to ensure that all of their families are seen in a timely manner. Whether we like to believe it or not our social workers may not have the time to ensure that the children in our system are being properly cared for. I do believe that the nine social services workers that spent time in the Jackson home should have been fired. These people had a...

...Ryan Griffith April, 13 2013 CJS/220 Week 4 Prosecution vs. Defense There are three main roles involved in all criminal cases: The judge, the prosecutor or the counsel for the victim, and the defense which is the counsel for the accused. I will be talking about the difference between the prosecution and the defense, not so much the judge although it is an important role. Although the prosecution attorney and defense attorney have had the same education and trials, and they are both considered lawyers, their roles couldn’t be more different. The prosecution is the one who represents the state, public, and victim or victims in a case. The defense counsel is the lawyer who represents the allegedly guilty party being charged by the victim or state. The biggest difference is that the prosecution is out to seek justice, not just to convict. The defense is always hired by the accused and acts on their behalf. Both sides however have equal rights and serve many different functions in the legal process. The prosecution may do some investigating, and question jurors they may not find suitable for their case. They can also offer deals called plea bargains. Their number one concern however is to make sure the guilty get convicted. The defenses number one goal is to protect their clients rights. The defense has the authority to challenge the prosecution on the behalf of their client. The prosecution has a lot of leverage in any given case. Unlike the defense, decisions...

Plasma helps to maintain normal blood pressure and volume to supplying critical proteins for blood clotting and immunity (Blood, 2011). The function of red blood cells is to move oxygen from the lungs to body tissues. Red blood cells are formed in the red bone marrow of certain bones, and they produce a substance called hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is a protein pigment that contains iron and that gives red blood cells their color. The hemoglobin in red blood cells combines with oxygen in the lungs, transporting that oxygen to the tissues throughout the body. Red bloods cells live only about four months and...
