It Is True to Me?

Topic: It is true to me?

There are a lot of things in the world which each person has each opinion about they are right or wrong. Relativists may have the belief that everything is relative absolutely. Relativism is also one of the four foundations of the world views. Based on the context, culture, religion...in which we are living, we hold that ethics and truth and have the answer for the question “It is true for me?”

In different culture, people has a different perspective of behaving, thinking and feeling. Everyone has a different personal opinion of food, clothing, lifestyle.. For example, chewing is banned in Singapore. Marriage is the process by which two people make their relationship public, official, and permanent. In my opinion, it is true that the marriage is the joining of two people. However, in some African countries such as Nigeria, Kenya... They accept that a man can get married with more than one wife, therefore, when the beliefs conflict with our own, we do not try to judge whether a society’s custom is right or wrong. The difference in religion also makes the diversity. Other religious perspectives may be objectivist about our own perspective. We eat pork, but it is a forbidden food for Muslims. It is immoral to some Middle Eastern Islamic countries to drink alcohol or play gamble.

Abortion which is defined the termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo before viability. In many countries, abortion is legal. It is a way for governments to control the overpopulation in some developing countries and raise the standard of living. In my opinion, I always think that abortion is wrong. A baby is a human. God created man and no one has a right to take other lives. However, in some contexts, it is an acceptable action to me for example to save the lives of pregnant. Sometimes, we hold to the concept that right or wrong are not absolutes, but can be determined by each individual.

In the past, the society gave no equal right to the women. They had suffered the discrimination and the subordination. They could not control their lives. Nowadays, we are living in the world that women's roles have been expanded from what they traditionally were. The women become more independent. The perception of people changed over time, and now we can affirm that gender equality is totally true.

Each person has a each view about the truth. If everything is relative to people, they would have different ways to judge they are right or wrong, ethical or not. If that standard of right and wrong is based on relativism, then it is not a standard at all because it is true for me but may not true for others. Therefore, in my opinion, sometimes the views should base on a common foundation of absolutes.

...True Friendship Do you know what kind of friendship is true? People always think about this question for a long time. Society always has a lot of definitions. However, how many people know someone who has true friend in their life? I think true friends must listen to you, take care of you, and tell you when you make a mistake. First, true friends must listen to you when you want to speak. People always have a number of disappointments in life. You want to speak to other people about your disappointment. For example, I have a best friend. Anytime I call him to talk about my disappointment, he always listens to me, tells me what he thinks and gives me some opinion. Second, true friends must take care of you, such as they will take care of you when you are sick, or they will help you when you have some trouble. For example, one day in the morning, I felt sick when I woke up. I just stayed at home. After school, my friends came to see me, and brought some food to me. They knew my parents had to go to work, and no one could take care of me. That’s why they brought food to me. Third, true friends must tell you when you make some mistakes. No one is perfect in the world. People always make some mistakes. However, people can grow through the mistake. True friends will help you with the mistake because they can tell you when you make a mistake. For example, I was addicted to online games when I was a middle school student. I played every day, and I even forgot my homework. My friends...

Friendship

...valuable things to learn and experience in life, but friendship to me is one of the most important. To go your whole life without experiencing a true friendship, is not giving yourself the best gift that God is offering you. If you were to ask me what friendship is, I would tell you that friendship is the most wonderful relationship that anyone can have. A true friend is a person who offers all of their love and respect and will never leave or betray you. The definition of friends can be described as: “an intimate associate, reliable, one who is not an enemy or foe, an ally, etc” (Webster’s, pg. 540). But friendship is much more than that definition it is a way of life. Let me begin to explain a little further; Every friendship is different but every true friendship should at least have one common factor, Trust. Trust is an issue that every friendship must deal with at some point in time. If that trust is broken the relationship can be damaged forever. Trust is an unwritten rule between friends and is defined as the “firm belief or confidence in the honesty, integrity, reliability, justice, of another person.” (Webster’s, pg. 1436) My friends are loyal and very trustworthy they stick by me through the good times and bad times. My friends would never gossip behind my back, spilling intimate details of my life that I’ve shared with them in confidence. I’m confident that my friends would try to defend me and praise me under any circumstances. And that’s exactly why I trust my friends...

Beautiful

...Beautiful By Siddiqah Cooper-Famakin I use to once sit and wonder what true beauty was; I would notice the outward neatness and great appearance of others and think that “this is what it is.” Not realizing that the same way they put on, they could also take off. It wasn’t until I began to grow and allow myself to be expanded that I realized true beauty must first begin within. I began to be able to experience true beauty by allowing love to come in; Love came in and saturated my heart and taught me to first love myself. After learning to love myself, I could then display love of immeasurable amounts towards God. When displaying love towards God, I love on His people. I began to love on the people of God by becoming sensitive to their needs; whether, Spiritual, financial, or physical. True beauty stepped in. I realized that it was not what was on the outside, but what was on the inside of MY heart. After God saw and noticed me operating in MY true beauty, He blessed me with a love that He knew would love me with the same kind of love that I put out. God blessed me with you, Olajireh Festus Famakin. I am truly grateful unto the Lord Jesus for you. You have come into my life and helped me to fully define true beauty. The beauty of you and me walking in the Garden of Eden with our Lord Jesus; I couldn’t ask for or imagine more. Knowing that we were created to be together as one, gives the heart something that it has been longing to adore. Olajireh, I could...

...True Friendship We will only make a few true friends. A true friend is good to you and reliable. A true friend is there backing you up on all sorts of hard times. They should always be honest and have your back. A true friend knows when your having a bad day. I only have 2 true friends, which are my sisters. Friendship is something that takes time to happen. We may think that having a friend means, We share a friendship, but I do not think so. Friendship to me is getting to know someone so well that we can tell what the person is feeling even when they won't admit it. A friend is a person who will always be by our side when times are bad. When we feel like no one cares for us, it is not true only a true friend does and will know when we are feeling this and will do everything in his or her power to make us feel better. A true friend is some one who will understand what you are saying even if it does not make any sense. If I did not have my sisters in my life, it would change completely. Not a day goes by in which I do not talk to them. They can sense when I am feeling down or when something amazing happened. My sisters are an important part of my life and if I get into a fight with one of them, we make up in a minute because we cannot be mad at each other since we know how much the other one cares for us. Knowledge or Belief

...is something that is believed to be true. Beliefs are truths that have no evidence to prove it is true. There are two kinds of truth empirical truth and necessary truth. These are statements that require a great deal of thought. Knowledge of Belief The person that I chose to write about who I truly believe loves me is my mother. I believe mothers are born with the distinct characteristic for love. Some may confuse the meaning of love with being a provider all of which falls under the characteristics of a mother’s love but different meaning. There is no concrete evidence that proves mothers are born to love but through experience and physical emotions I have come to believe it is true. I could begin the discussion by stating I have five other siblings but the topic of the discussion is me and my mother not my siblings. My mother has displayed her love for me in many ways. I grew up in an era when things weren’t as plentiful as they are today. The community and the environment that I was raised in wasn’t the friendliest or safest place to raise a child. There have been many times my mother has deprived herself of or went without things because she knew it was more important to take care of my needs first. There is no concrete evidence that would prove my mother loves me, only the actions and reaction she has demonstrated shows me that it is true. The first sign of empirical evidence would be when my mother showed me that she loved me was when she had to get up every morning...

Worldview

...Every view influences us to believe certain concepts and hold them to be true. I have a Christian Worldview and believe that God is my savior. I could have easily chosen to follow worldly concepts but instead I chose to believe in something the world could not offer me, God. To have a Christian Worldview one must believe and assume there is a God, a supernatural being that exists with power beyond what humans can comprehend. I believe there is a God, a heaven, and a hell. Some believe there is no God and that the supernatural world does not exist while others believe in the self. Whatever Worldview an individual may believe for their reasons, I have reasons of my own as to why I believe there is a God. God is three is one, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is the truth, he lives in everything. He is the reason for all existence. The Bible was written so that we would not only have a guideline of how to live Godly lives but for us have documented evidence that Jesus walked this earth and is real, He is something to believe in. God is a loving God. God is all characteristics in one. He loves, forgives, is compassionate, merciful, graceful, pure and eternal. God is also jealous, angry, and relentless. His character is like no other, He is flawless and without sin. No human being can touch Him and no human being can match His greatness. We are His creation and without God there would not be you or me. A human being is life formed by God in His image. God created Adam out...

True Colors

...The True You Everyone in this world is unique and special in his or her own way. Each individual has their own personality, but when compared to others a lot of traits are common amongst everyone. Finding out your true color, not only helps discover what type of person you are it always helps you understand those around you. I took the true colors test, a series of questions that asked what I prefer, what I would do, etc. While taking the true colors test I had a hard time describing myself and picking exactly which color I was, but I made sure to answer everything truthfully. In the end, I discovered that I am the color orange. The core needs and values of orange are we need freedom, adventure, spontaneity, excitement, competition and we are skillful. I believe that the color orange describes me very well. I personally believe that working on team projects can be a challenge, but after learning about orange I have discovered that I have many skills that I can bring to the table. As an orange I am very enthusiastic about my work. I always want to get a jump-start on my work so I can move onto my next task. I see this skill helping me in a group project because this means I am action-oriented so I will get my job done with the results I desire. I will also make sure that my teammates are doing their jobs as well. I am also a straightforward person, so if I do not like something that is happening in my group I will definitely voice my opinion, in a polite way of course. Lastly...

My Identity

...My true identity “Who am I?”, “What is my identity?” these are the two questions I often ask myself. To me, identity can be defined as who you are or what makes you different from others. I am no different from my classmates. I go to school, eat, play, sleep and do my homework like you all do, yet there is something that makes me different from you. That is my true identity. The famous poet Alfred Tennyson wrote “I am a part of all that I have met”. This quote helps me define identity because I believe that my identity is a sum of all that I have seen, experienced and learned from my surrounding. Every single person has a unique identity. Family, culture, friends and surrounding environments are important elements that shape your identity. To show my true identity, I will have to take you to a journey back through my life. I was born in India, in a cosmopolitan city called Bangalore. My mom and dad were living there as part of their work. My mom hails from the southern part of India and dad from the northern mountainous region. They speak two different languages and follow different religious beliefs. I was fortunate to have the best of two worlds in front of me to explore. I learnt quite a lot about two different cultures and beliefs from my parents. The example set by my parents taught me to broaden my mind and be tolerant to all religions. When my family migrated to Australia, it opened up a wonderful opportunity for me to further enrich my identity. I have also acquired...

They would say mean things to me asking where I was hiding him and that my family was related to him. It got to a point where they would laugh at me and say hurtful things every day. I eventually told my teacher who moved me to a different table. I was not ashamed of being Muslim or of having a Muslim name. I was nervous and scared of what people would say to me and how they would treat afterwards. I used to stay around my friends who were mostly Mexican because there were not that many Asians at my school. Other kids would assume I was Mexican as well but I never stopped them to clear the misunderstanding. In High school I was more confident and would openly ask answer questions people had about me like my ethnicity and religion. Other students made me feel comfortable enough to express myself and who I was. After that time I expressed my true self and was not afraid of what people thought of me.
