The range of specialists they can reach include: - Mortgage lenders - Commonwealth Financial Planners - Business Bankers - Regional and Agribusiness Specialists - Merchant Direct Sales Advisors - Asset Finance Specialists and - CommSec Advisors. Prior to video conferencing (VC) customers who needed specialist advice or where looking at applying for a home loan needed to attend a branch and book a time and date with a specialist in branch depending when the specialist was available. The Proof of Miracles

...The Proof of Miracles Miracle is such a strong word in the world, but what classifies a miracle? Do miracles even exist? According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a miracle is defined as an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs. Through my personal experience, I can say that miracles do exist. I went from having fun, to going blind in one eye, to having sight in both eyes better than 20/20 within less than two months. My story starts off with me and my three brothers playing paintball, a sport with two teams where the object of the game is to shoot the other team to win. We played about three games of paintball and the last game had just ended. We all took off our masks and my oldest brother was out of bullets, so we thought. He started to shoot the ground and all that came out of his gun was CO2 (a chemical compound composed of two oxygen atoms covalently bonded to a single carbon atom, which makes a gas at standard temperature and pressure). After he shot the ground, my oldest brother started shooting at my feet and slowly moved the gun up my body until he got to my face. Then out of nowhere, two paintballs came out of the gun and hit me in the mouth and the eye. Everything changed from joking around to sheer panic. Everyone dropped their gear, and my oldest brother picked me up in his arms, and rushed me into the house. The paintballs that hit me were filled with red paint, so it was hard to tell what was blood and what was paint. My upper...

Working with Other Agencies for the Benefit of the Client and Organisation

...Unit 7 Working with other agencies for the benefit of the client and organisation 1. Understand the characteristics of networks that support career information, advice and guidance 1.1 Critically analyse the purpose of networks that support career information, advice and guidance The key element of networking to develop relationships that are equally beneficial for us and our partners. Providing careers information, advice and guidance is improved if we have a strong network of partners around us (often in the local area of delivery) to look at opportunities and share there may be to assist us with the delivery of our service. With the bigger range of clients we see and the restrictions of the NCS it would be difficult to provide assistance for all the needs of our clients. Once we have assessed the goals of the clients, we can often rely on the expertise of our networks. Talking about our service and taking interest in the service offered by other providers/ organisations we can see how we may help each other and to see the interest and build on this foundation. Good understanding is required so all partners can have understanding of each service, which may result on ‘good’ referrals. For example, if I wanted to refer a client to a training course I would need to know what is the minimum educational level for the client to entry the training. If I continually sent people along who did not fit the minimum criteria the other organisation/partner would not feel their...

Challenging Behaviour - Defusing

...DEFUSING A focus on calming and defusing to reduce and, if possible, negate the use of physical contact is the favoured outcome when teachers have to step in to manage behaviour that challenges. Training supports teachers to spot trigger points early, builds greater confidence in approaching and managing pupils and adopting simple strategies to effectively de-escalate situations. Emphasising what may seem like obvious, common sense actions can help to establish a confident strategy for handling a potential incident of difficult behaviour: • Stay calm • Make sure the pupil has an escape route • Allow for personal space • Think about your tone of voice - try not to raise it • Empathise and listen to what is being said • Don't talk over • Try not to embarrass a pupil or make them lose face in front of others • Don’t make it personal - concentrate on the offence not the offender • Make it easy for them to do what you need them to do • Be aware of the school’s behaviour policy DE-ESCALATING & DEALING WITH SITUATIONS De-escalation techniques are most successful when used early, before the child becomes physically aggressive. To do this, it is necessary to be aware of and spot early signs of agitation such as balled fists, fidgeting, shaking, ‘eye-balling’ another child, head thrust forward or clenched jaw. Changes in voice, such as speech becoming more rapid or high-pitched, may also indicate aggression. These signs should not be ignored and you should never...

...A pathologist is a physician who examines tissues, checks the accuracy of lab tests, and interprets the results in order to facilitate the patient’s diagnosis and treatment. He or she works closely with the patient’s other doctors and is a vital member of the patient’s primary health care team. Pathologists work in many areas of the medical laboratory and often serve as the Lab Director.  Contrary to popular depictions of this career, the task of performing autopsies constitutes just a small part of the typical pathologist’s practice. A clinical pathologist oversees lab tests conducted on body fluids. For instance, together with clinical lab technologists, pathologists work to ensure that blood and blood products are safe. In microbiology, pathologists identify microorganisms that can cause infections – bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites – so that the most effective treatment can be selected for each particular case. An anatomic pathologist assists surgeons during operations by providing immediate diagnoses on biopsies (specially treated tissues removed in surgery and rushed to the lab). A forensic pathologist uses lab science to answer questions about evidence collected for criminal and civil cases.  Other pathologists conduct research in pathology, developing new tests and new instruments to better diagnose diseases. Some pathologists devote their careers to research in pathology, developing new tests and new instruments to better diagnose diseases. Pathologists...

...Works Cited Moore, Wes. The other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates. New York: Spiegel & Grau, 2010. Print. Deja Murray Dr. Lee Introduction to Sociology 4/22/14 The Other Wes Moore Assignment Question 1): The life of Wes Moore incorporates several sociological topics discussed in this course. Discuss how the culture of both Wes 1 and Wes 2 impacted their personalities and outlook on life resulting in different outcomes? Culture is defined as specific behaviors or beliefs of characteristics from a particular social, ethnic, or age group that defines the quality of that person. Both Wes 1 and Wes 2 derived from the same city and unfortunately one lived his dream while the other didn’t. Wes 1 father was not there because he couldn’t be and the other Wes 2 father chose not to be. The absence of a father or male figure in a teenager life coincides with their behavior while growing up. “We’re going to mourn their absence in different ways” (Moore pg3). Although their names were the same they lived two completely different lives. While Wes1 was dealing with the death of his father Wes 2 was dealing with the fact that his father wanted nothing to do with him. This tremendously impacted their lives. Wes 1 mother decided to move to the Bronx’s were drugs and the streets changed, leaving nothing but trouble and the act of skipping school for Wes 1. While on the other hand Wes 2 was born and raised in the Bronx and his mother was not bringing in much money leaving...

...Pros and Cons to having a purely Cellular Network vs. a purely Fixed Line Network 1. Pros a. Cost: Most wireline phone companies charge more than what you'd pay for most alternatives, and some are taxed more as well. There are some locations where getting new wired phone service is prohibitively expensive or even impossible. Long Distance and extra features like Call Waiting are normally included with alternative phones. b. More Features: Cellular and broadband phones normally include Long Distance, Voice Mail, Caller ID, Call Forwarding and more, usually at no additional charge. They also have Text Messaging and various forms of data service which are unavailable with a landline. c. Portability: If you move your phone and your number can stay with you. There are no "installation" charges. d. Temporary Usage: You can have phone service for an allotted amount of time without installing a separate line. e. Internet Access: Your wireless phone can also be your connection to the Internet, either with an internal browser or tethered to your computer, and available wherever there is cellular coverage. Wireless broadband is also available separate from your cellular account. f. Wi-Fe for Multiple Devices: You can get a cellular modem that provides a Wi-Fi signal that can connect to up to 5 separate Wi-Fi devices. 2. Cons g. ...Course: MGMT591 Professor: Robert Paschke Part 1: Group Development The Woodson Foundation and the Washington DC public school system are teaming up to create an experimental after school program to tackle certain ongoing issue with the school system. The ongoing issues include rapid staff turnover and truancy, low performance and crime amongst students. The plan, after months of negotiation is to create an agency that will integrate both the Woodson Foundation and the DC Schools organization and be financially self-sufficient. To make this possible, the first step is to create an executive development team that will establish the operating plan for improving school performance. From what we have read in the case study and the text book material, this group can be considered to be in two stages simultaneously. This is a group that is still in the “forming” stage – there is a great deal of uncertainty, members have not yet been identified and none of the group properties (roles, norms, status, size, cohesiveness and diversity) have been clearly defined (with one exception, that of the group size). While the group is still in the forming stage there is also conflict brewing. Each of the group members have their interests at heart. The school district representatives want to ensure that the new jobs are unionized and that current policies and procedures are applicable. Woodson Foundation is focused on performance measurement using hard data, which is not consistent with the existing...

The Creed of the Specialist

...The creed of the Specialist No one gets away with more than I. I am a non Non-Commissioned Officer, a beast of burden. As a junior enlisted soldier I realize that I am a member of an under appreciated, much chastised group of soldiers which is known as the ribcage, or perhaps pancreas, of the Army. I am proud of myself and my fellow Specialists and will continue to bitch, whine and sham until the absolute last second regardless of the mission at hand. I will use my grade and position to avoid responsibility, accountability and any sense of presence of mind. Ignorance is my watchword. My two best excuses will always be on the tip of my tongue "I didn't know," and "It wasn't me." I will strive to remain invisible and unavailable for details. Never ever volunteer for anything is my rallying cry. I am aware of my role as a SPC and if you need me for anything, I'll be on appointment. I know the other soldiers, and I will always refer to them by their first name or in some cases derogatory nickname. On weekends, or days off I will consistently drink myself into oblivion, and I will never answer my phone. I understand that for a person in my hierarchal position, rewards are going to be few and far between, and punishment will always be swift and severe. Officers of my unit will have maximum time to accomplish their duties, because I will be accomplishing them for them. I will kiss up to their face and badmouth them behind their back, just like everyone else. I will be...
