In the JHU spirit of exploration and discovery I hope to pursue my interest in biophysics, molecular and cell biology along with incorporating my passion for sustainability, nutrition, and forensics both in and outside the classroom at Johns Hopkins. The opportunity to challenge myself in rigorous undergraduate classes and combine extracurricular activities of interest excites me. Meeting with both the pre-professional advising track and academic advisors, I seek to successfully enter medical school or graduate school after completion of my undergraduate degree at JHU.
I thrive on the pursuit of achieving knowledge, not just the question and correct answer, but on the creative exploration and collaboration to discover the value of the outcome. Combining my current interest in nutrition and sustainability along with my coursework in biology and physics I have been researching diet and lifestyle choices that improve health and decreases overuse of natural resources that lead to depletion of healthy food choices. …show more content…
As part of my research into career interests, I chose to tour the NIH facility and speak with a former FBI lab director as I made my way to visit Johns Hopkins. These experiences gave me a glimpse of the opportunities I can seek to be involved with for research and internships while a student at JHU.
Hopkins is the place for me to grow in knowledge and confidence, collaborate with my peers, professors, and community, engage in research, make discoveries, foster my independence and provide opportunities show others the benefits of exploration and discovery. Burger King Swot Analysis

...Burger King Abstract Burger King is a very well-known chain of fast food restaurants that serves over 11 million people daily. Their top competitor has been McDonald’s up until now, but this may possibly change in the near future. They have come a long way in the past few decades. They have faced good times and some not so good times. They have had good leadership as well as some that were considered sub-par. Included in the following paper you will find a SWOT analysis of Burger King and the effects of the issues discussed directly. The way a company handles the information that a SWOT provides can make or break a company no matter how small or how large they may seem. History/Background Burger King is a world renowned fast food chain, also known as the “Home of the Whopper,” that serves over 11 million clients across the globe (Burger King, 2014). They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Burger King was not always like it is now. It was originally founded on July 28, 1953 by Keith J. Kramer and Matthew Burns as Insta-Burger King. After the company ran into financial difficulties a year later in 1954, it was purchased by its Miami, Florida franchisees, James McLamore and David R. Edgerton. They initiated a corporate restructuring of the chain, first renaming the company Burger King, then opening the first Burger King restaurant was in Miami, FL and was advertised as the “home of the whopper”...

...Order Code RL33199 Data Security Breaches: Context and Incident Summaries Updated May 7, 2007 Rita Tehan Information Research Specialist Knowledge Services Group Data Security Breaches: Context and Incident Summaries Summary Personal data security breaches are being reported with increasing regularity. Within the past few years, numerous examples of data such as Social Security, bank account, credit card, and driver’s license numbers, as well as medical and student records have been compromised. A major reason for the increased awareness of these security breaches is a California law that requires notice of security breaches to the affected individuals. This law, implemented in July 2003, was the first of its kind in the nation. State data security breach notification laws require companies and other entities that have lost data to notify affected consumers. As of January 2007, 35 states have enacted legislation requiring companies or state agencies to disclose security breaches involving personal information. Congress is considering legislation to address personal data security breaches, following a series of high-profile data security breaches at major financial services firms, data brokers (including ChoicePoint and LexisNexis), and universities. In the past three years, multiple measures have been introduced, but to date, none have been enacted. This report will be updated regularly. High Fliers

PhD in CS @ University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) 我的短處是申請材料缺乏亮點:沒有發表 research paper(我大三的時候 在中文數學期刊上發表過線性代數方面的論文,但是對申請基本上是零幫助),沒 有北美名校的交換經歷。 ...

The meeting was only 10 weeks away and Bernstein, Trexel’s president and chief executive officer, needed to present a coherent vision of the company’s new strategy. Bernstein believed that Trexel’s patented technology for manufacturing foamed plastics had the potential to revolutionize much of the worldwide plastics industry. His innovative process technology, known as MuCell, allowed the Woburn, Massachusetts company to produce foamed plastic utilizing 25% to 50% less material than traditional solid plastics without a significant decrease in the strength of the plastic. Bernstein believed the market for products produced via this...

...FOREWORD In a span of only five years, the population of the Philippines grew by 7.7 million – from 68.8 million in 1995 to 76.5 million in 2000. During this period, the population growth rate (PGR) was 2.36 percent per year, which means the population doubling time will be within 29 years if the rate does not decline (NSO, 2001). Side by side with rapid population growth is poverty, which still grips about a third of the country's 15.3 million households (NSO, 2001a). This Country Report is timely in that it revisits the link between population/development and poverty, environment, and resources. The Report has two purposes. First, it intends to review the Philippine population/development situation, including issues of reproductive health and gender equity, from the perspective of goals affirmed in the Bali Declaration, the ICPD Program of Action and other related documents. The report's second purpose is to highlight priority population issues in the context of alleviating poverty and improving the quality of life of Filipinos. To reduce poverty significantly within the coming decade, the Philippines must face the challenge of building the capacities of its vast human capital. Only in this way can Filipino families, especially the poor, meaningfully, responsibly, and productively participate in the development process. CONTENTS |FOREWORD ...
