Jack Cole: Jack cole was considered to be the jazz-dance pioneer. He was a hard-driving dancer and choreographer that developed a searing style of distinctively American dance for the stage and on screen. Cole performed in many musicals on broadway, like The Dream of Sganarelle. He forged a twentieth century movement language known as theatrical jazz dance from ethnic, ballet, modern, and popular dance. Cole was first exposed to ethnic dance in the pageants of Denishawn. He also studied modern dance for the first time at the Denishawn school in New York City. One may be able to recognize his work through “urban dance”. That is the preferred expression Cole like to say his dance style was. Busby Berkely: Bubsy Berkely wad a director and choreographer of Hollywood musicals. He was considered the pioneer of cine-dance. One might be able to recognize his choreographic works on film since they only exist on film.
