...MICROFICHE A microfiche is a card made of transparent film used to store printed information in miniaturized form. To read the card, a user places it under the lens of a reader machine, which magnifies it greatly. The thinness and small size of the film enables it to be stored very easily and efficiently, allowing libraries, museums and businesses to increase their resource collections without the need for additional storage space. While many organizations store records digitally, microfiche records are still created and used and, in fact, have some advantages over digital storage options, including their potentially longer lifespan. Types of Microforms Microfiche is a type of microform, a term used to describe several mediums that provide storage for exact, miniature copies of documents. This type is made of a flat sheet of film, usually with a polyester base, on which multiple pages of a document are printed in extremely small size. The standard size is 105 mm by 148 mm (about 4 by 5.8 inches). Other types of microforms include microfilm, a strip of film on which the miniaturized copies are printed, and aperture cards, which are punch cards with a window that holds a single micofilm image. How They Are Read Microforms usually cannot be read with the naked eye and must be magnified first. Specialized machines have been designed to make this task eaiser; the most common include a magnifier and a simple projector that allows the user to read the much larger...

...HONG KONG/CHINA Bosideng International A warm and cosy stock A dominant brand with household recognition We initiate coverage on Bosideng with an Outperform, with 35% upside to our target price. Bosideng dominates China’s down jacket market with an estimated 37% market share in CY10. Its top brand is ranked the 13th most valuable consumer brand in China. We expect core revenue CAGR of 13% in FY12-14 on the back of continued penetration of down jackets in China. Additionally, Bosideng is building out a menswear business. While this makes up only 10% of revenues in FY12E, we expect it to generate organic revenue CAGR of 33% with the potential for further upside from acquisitions. High free cash flow and dividend yield Photo taken by the report’s lead analyst in rural China. “A Christmas to remember” – December 2010 3998 HK Price 27 Oct 11 12-month target Upside/Downside Valuation - PER Outperform HK$2.07 HK$ % HK$ 2.80 35.3 2.80 Bosideng is currently sitting on HK$2.8bn net cash and we forecast a free cash flow yield of 6% in FY12, rising to 10% in FY14. With a 75% payout ratio, Bosideng should generate a dividend yield of 8% in FY12. Bosideng is looking to make acquisitions in the highly fragmented menswear market. Past acquisitions have been successful and we don’t think it is likely the company will make any acquisition that depletes more than half of the cash pile at most; thus we think the dividend is secure. Market concerns are overdone Six out of...

...that counts. For this to be my first true experience with international travel felt rather daunting, it was comparable to accelerating from zero to sixty miles per hour instantaneously. Invariably, I have a difficult time packing for a vacation. What should I bring? How much clean underwear will I need? How hot will weather conditions be? What if the weather turns cold? Should I bring layers? Would a sweater or a jacket be suitable? Will everything match? Suppose during the trip I appear ridiculous because my last clean shirt and pants resemble a combination fit for a high school clash day? All of those questions loomed large for the reason that space in the plane was extremely limited and several of the places we planned to touch down wouldn’t have anywhere to shop. That last thought was somewhat irrelevant; even if stores were available, I was at a point in my life where I didn’t have spare money to buy additional clothes. Finally, common sense kicked in and I chose to take an Adidas sports duffel bag. It measured approximately 1 ft. x 1 ft. x 2 ft. long, the type that is at times distributed as a relatively generous giveaway. My undersized shoulder bag, which was bigger than a man-purse but smaller than a briefcase was a necessity for carrying aviation essentials such as headsets, a little clipboard, and aeronautical charts. The duffle and shoulder bag would take up what I perceived to be my share of the personal storage space aboard the plane. When I arrived...

...Plastic Doll 1. What is the difference between energy and power? What is a unit of power? How does speed relate to power? .energy is the ability of doing work while power is the rate at whch work is done unit of power = Watts = 1J/s power = force * velocity 2. Explain how a sound is actually a form of energy? In what medium do sound waves travel? The longitudinal waves generated by sound will create a wave that transfers at some rate , corresponds to transfer of energy. They travel in all states of matter, but speed will be different in different matters. 3. Give an example of change of energy from potential to kinetic; from kinetic to potential. The water falling from the mountains stores kinetic energy.....when falls its potential energy..... and the danamo kept under it gives us ELECTRICITY.... 4. What is a trophic level? Give some examples. How much energy is lost at each trophic level? The trophic level is the position that an organism occupies in a food chain -what it eats, and what eats it. In an ecosystem there is almost always some foundation species that directly harvests energy from the sun, for example, grass. Next are herbivores (primary consumers) that eat the grass, such as the rabbit. Next are carnivores (secondary consumers) that eat the rabbit, such as a bobcat. There can be several intermediate links, which means that there can be another layer of predators on top, such as mountain lions, which sometimes eat bobcats. The larger...

...Nicholas Tellez & Sara Ungerer CJA/364 February 16, 2015 Instructor: Bobby Kemp Search and Seizure Search and seizures are highly debated topics in the United States. Stop and frisk, automobile searches and border searches all fall within the guidelines of the Fourth Amendment. Discussed in this paper will be what reasonable searches, seizures and arrests are and how they are applied. Also to be discussed is whether probable cause is needed during warrantless searches and how the right to privacy is weighed. Finally, this paper will discuss how America’s borders are being protected by the Fourth Amendment, and what exceptions to the rule are necessary to protect America’s security interests. Stop-and-Frisk The definition of a “stop and frisk” is when the police temporarily detain a person and “pat down” their outer clothing if a law enforcement officer believes a suspect is armed and dangerous (Center for Public Education, 2015). For example, if a person is observed walking back and forth in front of jewelry store, meets another person around the corner from the store, and an officer observes one person handing the other person something which they put into their jacket. The officer can stop and frisk that suspect because they will have a reasonable suspicion that the suspects could be armed, and are possibly going to commit a crime. A frisk, by definition, is a type of search that requires an officer to have a lawful reason to stop and search (Center for Public Education...

INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF INNOVATIVE RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT Page 310 www.ijird.com October, 2012 Vol 1 Issue 8 1. Introduction We know that our earth covered with 70% of water and 30% of land. So water occupies more space than land but 97% is the salt water and 3% is the fresh drinking water. Many technologies are developed to use salt water for producing electrical energy. The energy produced in this way is renewable energy source. Ex: salt water battery, salt water generators etc. The modern battery is found in high-tech applications ranging from hearing aids and pace-makers to pocket calculators, personal stereos, radios and mobile phones. They are everywhere and completely invaluable. The origin of the power behind the battery is chemical. ...Shaping the Image of Black America Kathleen Gorman Author Note This paper is being submitted on March 7, 20143, for Kathleen Gorman’s G380 Visions of America Since 1945 course. Shaping the Image of Black America Good Times originally aired on CBS in 1974. It was a black situation comedy focused on the daily lives, struggles, and hardships of a disadvantaged black family living in a Chicago housing project during the peak of the civil rights movement. Esther Rolle was cast as the matriarch, Florida Evans. The character had originated as a maid on the sitcom “Maude”. From analysis of the main characters in Good Times, there emerges a clearly exhibited grouping of a minstrel show ensemble. Every minstrel caricature is represented; the mammy, the brute, the promiscuous, exotic woman, the lazy son, the ‘mulatto’, and the pickaninny. There are no legitimate marked talents portrayed among the characters, except for J.J., whose inability to be taken seriously enough undermines any effort to benefit from his artistic talents. As Bodroghkozy (2012) observes, “Good Times waded into these troubled waters. As a comedy reaching a diverse audience, the show had to negotiate its representations with care in order, on the one hand, to circulate empowering messages about African Americans while, on the other hand, not to unduly discomfort more conservative white viewers, including those who...

...research on events that were headlines on the day they were born, 20 years, 50 years and 100 years ago. They were to present this in front of a panel in specific schedules their professor has given. This also served as their final exam for the second term of school year 2012 – 2011. They were to follow the APA style in doing the paper including a bibliography of the same format. The research is very useful in their course, which is Bachelor of Arts Major in Consular and Diplomatic Affairs, because it concerns historical headlines around the world and their course mostly consists of majors in history. They may also improve their research making skills and strategies in the study because it requires them to consult more sources for a precise and reliable study. Based on this study, many historical events did happen on the same month of the researcher’s birthday. Some created great effect on today and others are just headlines that shook the world. It’s a way of discovering new things about history and also getting to remember it because it took a mindful of research to get all the information. It also serves as an achievement for a student to create a research paper and applying all that they have learned in their subject.
