When I think of Jackie Biano I think of an ornate book, red on the outside with many embellishments and very neatly arranged. Her 4’10” stature and creative outfits does not stop her from being a strong and influential woman. She is a lover of words and stories and has written many new chapters in her 63 years. Just by looking at her you couldn’t guess her past. She was part of the first segregated high school class at New Iberia Senior High, where she later became a teacher. Ms. Biano has now been an educator for the past four decades. She was divorced and had to do things she had never had to do.
