A Fight For Segregation
It was long until colored people were able to play with the white people. Jackie Robinson helped fight for segregation and civil rights. He thought everyone should be treated equally. He thought that a person shouldn’t be underestimated by one’s background, for they can change the world and our perspectives.
One’s race shouldn’t be determined by what they are capable of accomplishing. Jackie Robinson demolished the racial barrier when he showed everyone that it didn’t matter if he was colored, that he was also capable of playing the same way as the white baseball players. Fighting for his dreams, Jackie received many death threats. He had to overcome the fact that most of the world was against his race, African American. …show more content…
Even though, Jackie suffered many insults and criticism, he changed peoples thoughts by showing them that he was capable of becoming one of the best baseball players in history, while being an African American. Jackie Robinson went through a path where many obstacles were present. He had a hard time collaborating with his team since all of his companions form the Brooklyn Dodgers were white and they were against Jackie taking part of their team. His courage and bravery helped others believe in themselves thinking that just like Jackie, they were also able to pursue their dreams leaving aside their racial backgrounds and cultures. Jackie lived in a time period where discrimination was very common. He knew that his membership in the Dodgers was going to bring many conflicts, he even got to the point where received death threats,still he continued to play after all the insults he received and continued until his dream of being the best baseball players was accomplished. He was a very determined man who was focused on his objectives. Thanks to his hardwork and dedication, he became a role model ,for he was influential not only to African Americans, but also other races and cultures who were discriminated for their background and ancestors.
