Jacori is a seven-year-old African American male who attended the intake assessment with his mother. Jacori’s primary care provider referred him to Children Advocacy Network (CAN) due to concerns with disruptive behavior. Jacori has been given a diagnosis of ADHD and has been prescribed Quillivant for treatment of symptoms. Mother reported that client “argues and does not follow directions” and “does not listen when being spoken to”. Mother reported that in the home client sometimes would talk like “a baby”. Mother reported that client appears to have difficulty with female figures and responds to only following orders from male figures. Mother explained that client becomes defiant to mother’s parenting strategies but has a “different response”
