On May 22, 1965 in Mobile, Alabama, James E. Dixon was born. From that moment, God’s plan for James had started.

James was the youngest out of seven kids and he claims to have a normal childhood. His family grew up Baptist, so his siblings and him went to church with their mother every Sunday. His father not so much. But, James says that he “remembers his father reading his Bible in the very small hallway that they had and on his knees praying for long periods of time every night”. I believe these thing planted the seed of God for James.

I asked James if he was ever questioned the existence of God and he denies that he never did but he says that he questioned our relationship with God. James explains this by saying that when he was growing up in church, he would just hear people talking about how God help them pay their light bills. So, he put God in this category as a “Light-Bill-Paying God’ and he knew that God had to be more than just that.

Many years later is when James figured out that God was fully present in his life. He feels that God called him down to completely surrender to him, so instead of living life in his own ways of thinking, he was supposed to live life in God’s way of thinking, which trumps our way of thinking. I asked James on the process of how God exactly called him down because some people get dreams, vision, or he just talks to them. James’s story is different.
