Some contemporary researchers believe that her third marriage reveals Janie`s real identity (Fard & Zarrinjooee, 2014). This relationship is a representation of “a moment when she is freed from patriarchal dictation of its rules and regulations” (Fard & Zarrinjooee, 2014).
At the very beginning of this subchapter, it was mentioned on purpose that Their Eyes Were Watching God can be considered as a feminist novel. Some scholars contradict this statement by saying that in the course of time Janie does not achieve self-independence in terms of her womanhood (Walker, 1974).
