...I have chosen to do a SWOT analysis on the internet café business, JavaNet. As I was going through the business plan I noticed that there was a SWOT analysis done already by JavaNet. First I was very impressed by the structure of their business plan and the information that was in it. The fact they did their own analysis told me there was much research done prior to doing their business plan. The challenge I then took on was to compare my analysis to theirs to see if I could find any discrepancies or improvements with their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. As I have stated, the business model JavaNet has set up is a very well developed and researched one. They did a market survey to see if there would be a need for such services, what types of groups they could market to and how much people would be willing to pay for such services. The staff seems to be knowledgeable and the owners are willing to train the staff on all the technology. The desire to provide an environment that encourages social interaction, “How to” classes with top of the line equipment. I am in agreement with JavaNet’s analysis of their strengths. There are several weaknesses I see that are not to different from what JavaNet found.. One major weakness is technology and how quickly it changes. Since JavaNet is considered a cyber-café, all technology including the internet must be up-to-date. Keeping up the technology and all the changes, costs money. Being able to balance the budget and...

...all four of these areas in the JavaNet’s business plan. The internet café is called JavaNet, which will provide a different type of communication and entertainment for the public to use at low cost fee. They will educate the public on what the internet can offer them. They will also provide bakery items and coffee at an affordable price. Within two years of operation JavaNet will be sufficient with a customer base to keep the business functioning. Since the internet is continuingly growing, JavaNet will be able to educate the novice users which will bring people of all ages and backgrounds together. I found that JavaNet does have some strength within their business plan. The venture has experienced researchers and creative leaders. The business model is well-developed targeting people of all ages and backgrounds to come to a place with a common goal, to learn what the internet can offer them. The market segments have been accurately targeted by being the first internet café in Eugene. The distribution channels are chosen from the local wholesalers in Lane County. The wholesaler retails beans to twenty different locations in the Eugene area. The friendly and helpful staff will be able to help the growing population of the daily internet users. They were selected by having the passion for teaching and sharing internet experiences. The staff is very knowledgeable of the services provided by JavaNet. The organization of leadership is simple; Cale Bruckner is the owner, which will...

...Business Plan – 3142 JavaNet Café After reviewing the business plan for JavaNet Café I think with the high demand and dependency on the internet and it potential for enormous growth, and the great consumption of coffee among the people it has the potential to be a great place to build a social environment. It will cater to the savvy internet users, the internet surfers and the less experienced or non-users of the internet. Not only will JavaNet be a great place to spend time away from home socializing in a friendly environment, you also get to enjoy the best quality coffee, specialty beverages and baked goods while being educated and/or entertained at the same time. I think the combination makes for a great venture. However, like a lot of startup businesses I think it has a few challenges as well as the positives which I plan to point out in my SWOT Analysis. SWOT Analysis Strengths One of the greatness strengths of this business is that this Café is not just an ordinary Café and the only one in the area, but it is providing a service that people use on a large scale everyday, the Internet. To add to the equation, they are selling a beverage that millions of people consume all day, everyday entertaining and educating the public. Since location is important, being downtown close to the business community and close to trendy and upscale eating establishments with reasonable rent makes it is phenomenal. The set up they have planned is great with track lighting...

...SWOT Analysis Strengths JavaNet Internet Café’s business plan has much strength. The business is simple with service being easy. The advertisment could be a little more on the aggressive side to see what it is customers like, and to add to the strategy, it will make sense to aim towards more inexperienced internet users. The market for inexperienced users will be very small. Most people know how to use the internet but teaching the ones who do not will help add to the value. JavaNet Internet Café should put the focus on working with the advanced internet users. The employees will be an asset to the company since they will have the knowledge and understanding for any technical issues that may arise. They will become an asset to the team as it uses it expertise to help its customers. The company’s financial plan is very well put together and is assured to be funded. Their outline for success has also been very well researched and is very to the point. JavaNet Internet Café’s ability to figure out what risks may happen will come into play as it maneuvers it’s quality and success. Weakness The business model should be more creative and add a few more options so that they can provide for more people than just ones who want coffee and the internet. They would do good by adding maybe videogames. Video games are known to boost excitement anywhere. It is not that unique of a company to out last competers. The marketing is very unclear and is really lacking in detail. It...
