...Rajiv Nair Mock Interview Reflection Paper Business 275: Portfolio & Experiential Learning November 28, 2014 Delaware Tech Rajiv Nair Mock Interview Reflection Paper Business 275: Portfolio & Experiential Learning November 28, 2014 Delaware Tech Mock Interview Reflection Paper Introduction: ------------------------------------------------- The following paper is written based of a simulated interview that I had participated in; the conditions that were placed in the interview were for me an individual interviewing for an internship opportunity. This internship opportunity encompasses tasks such as; Operations Management, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, and human resources. It is through this exposure that the individual that obtains the position will experience an overall perspective of how a business functions. The idea about this paper is created for the intended purposes of providing an honest reflection of our thoughts about the interview. During the interview, I felt a tad nervous about the camera being pointed at me, it was in the interview that I had felt a certain unease about myself. This uneasiness was not only caused by tension of a camera pointed, but underlying factors that reflected moderate anxiety. As I left the interview, I had been confident that it had gone well, but recognized some minor facial expressions that I might have had made. When I viewed the video, I had noticed the facial expressions that I had made. In the...

...Jill v. Jack Facts: Jill asks Jack to give her an estimate in the price of building a fence around her orchard. Jack inspects and measures Jill’s apple orchard and gives Jill an estimate of $1,000. Jill agrees to the price and they sign a contract. Jill, however, had in mind a fence around her peach orchard that is much larger. Jack says he cannot build a fence around the peach orchard for $1,000, but Jill wants to hold Jack to the $1,000 for a fence around the peach orchard, and sues Jack for breach of contract. Issue: Can Jill sue Jack for breach of contract? Rule: Breach of contract states “A failure of a party to a contract to perform his or her obligations as agreed to within the contract”. Contract law allows for judicial intervention in the event of a breach that is substantial, that goes to the root of the contract, also stated to be fundamental, by relieving the non-breaching party of his or her obligations and exposing the breaching party to damages or, if appropriate, an order for performance of the breached contractual obligation. Application: In Order for a contract to exist you have to have five elements: 1) Offer 2) Acceptance 3) Consideration 4) Legality 5) Capacity Under the common law, the offer had to be definite enough to establish the material terms of the contract. If material terms of the contract were not present in the offer, than a contract would not be found to exist. So the first element was not covered due...

...Yoga Shentu GERM 340 - Professor Kita 2/23/14 Word Count: 1262 Essay #1 Topic # 3 Driven by Fear- the Force that Grasps from Inside In The Sandman by E.T.A. Hoffmann, the fate of Nathaniel is closely related to eyes. In Freud’s The Uncanny, the fear of losing one’s eyes substitutes for the fear of castration. From my perspective, the castration theory lacks evidence in the literature itself. However it is the fear of losing his eyes that cumulates in and leads to Nathaniel’s madness, as is mentioned when he sees a pair of eyes taken out of Olympia, the automaton. On a deeper level, madness is also linked to his resentment of his fiancée rationality. From the second letter that Nathaniel writes to Lothar, Clara’s brother, it is obvious that he resists the kind of “philosophical response”. And Nathaniel’s reaction to Clara after reading the poem also confirms his resistance for her rational thinking. These two elements combine and push Nathaniel to his madness. Throughout the story, Nathaniel always turns anxious and aggressive at the scene where a pair of eyeballs or something relevant to eyes are in sight. As Freud mentioned in The Uncanny, “so precious an organ as the eye should be guarded by a commensurate anxiety” (140). In Nathaniel’s letter to Lothar, he explains how the bedtime story seeds the fear of losing eyes. And later his encounter with Coppelius, the old barrister, when Coppelius attempts to take Nathaniel’s eyes out, traumatizes him as a child. Losing...

...There is always speculation that one of the Dillard girls is pregnant. Jill and Jessa are both married, and Jessa has already revealed that her second baby is on the way. Now everyone is wondering how soon Jill Duggar Dillard will end up pregnant. People shared that Jill teased a sibling for her son Israel and made it sound like a baby could be on the way really soon for the couple if it isn't already. On tonight's Counting On, Jill and Derick will talk about what their goals are for the future. They both mention that another baby is on their plans for the very near future. Jill thinks that Israel would be great with this and said, "Israel is ready to be a big brother. I think it will be good for him, too. He'll learn to share." Of course, Jill was asked if she was pregnant already. Instead of speaking up and saying no, Jill teased saying, "lots of people ask." She did also say that they are planning on another baby soon. Jill could be pregnant, but just not ready to tell the fans yet. When she got pregnant with Israel, Jill Duggar Dillard told everyone right away. She didn't wait to be done with her first trimester like most celebrities do. It would be pretty surprising if Jill was pregnant and just not telling anyone yet....

...I believe Dr. Jill Stein (the Green Party’s presidential nominee) is a true leader. She practices what she preaches. Ethics, distinguishing right from wrong, Jill Stein has it. The first thing that stands out to me about Jill Stein’s ethics would be the fact that she refused to be funded by corporate money. In July of this year she stated “We need real public servants who listen to the people, not to the corporate lobbyists that funnel campaign checks into the big war chests, that's what brought me to the Green Party, the only national party that is not bought and paid for by corporate money." She supports environmentalism, non-violence, social justice and grassroots organizing (bringing things from the community level.) One of her main goals is called the Green New Deal and it kills two birds with one stone; creating jobs in renewable energy, it not only would reduce unemployment but also will help the climate and eventually peoples health. Self-Competency: Jill graduated from medical school and worked with adults and young people, eventually she realized she couldn’t do both this and politics. She says what she is doing now is “political medicine.” She says they have to heal the politics in order to achieve health in all other aspects of society. Diversity Competency: Jill Stein is actually the first Jewish woman presidential candidate. She stands for rights of the disabled, rights of all individuals to choose their intimate partners, religious freedom, etc. ...

...Jill Lepore's essay, We the Parchment, discusses the issues pertaining to American people and the constitution. One of Lepore's main arguments is about how people don't read and understand the constitution properly. In a poll, 72 percent out of 1,000 people have never read the constitution.(page 76). Lepore's states that this is a big problem because how are we suppose to protect our constitutional rights if we don't know or understand them. She agrees that the constitution is hard to read. It is too hard for an ordinary person to understand. After all this, people still worship the document as if it were something sacred will insisted that we follow the laws listed. Lepore suggest citizens should see it as an evolving document as the country...

...When watching Jill Bolte Taylor’s experience while having a stroke, it was an interesting experience on the way she was explaining how everything was taking place. It was like an inner experience for the viewers, by gaining the perspective as being in her predicament. As Taylor was explaining her experience, I was viewing the process as a movie in my mind, of how her senses and functioning was changing as she was trying to the best of her ability to keep moving to contact help. In putting myself in Jill Bolte Taylor’s shoes in experiencing a stroke, at the beginning, it would be a panicking experience for me to become involved in. I would certainly be in a panicking state of mind, until I am able to calm myself down. The same as Taylor did to contact someone for help; I would also do the same to get the medical help I need when having a stroke. That is if my physical ability allows me. After experiencing a stroke, my way of coping is taking one day at a time. By being a busy person in doing school, work, and providing for my family,...

Costumer A, asks to pay for costumer B’s order and the effect it has on costumer B encourages them to participate to do the same for costumer C’s order and so forth. In the article “5 Ways Giving Is Good for You” by Jill Suttie and Jason Marsh, number three is “Giving promotes cooperation and social connection”. Representing the same exact thing that occurs in the “pay-forward-method”.
