...“I’ve got this!” I said. My team mates were all surrounded around the pitcher’s mound trying to boost my confidence. I looked at each of them, panting and with sweat pouring down their faces. I presented a calm appearance on the outside but on the inside I was a nervous wreck. I knew I couldn’t let them down, we had worked so hard this season for this title. It was the last inning of the final season game, the score was tied, there were 2 outs, the batter had a full count and bases were loaded. This pitch determined our destiny. Would we go on to the championship round? Would we win the entire season undefeated? It all raced through my mind as it seemed like I had been standing there for an eternity on the mound waiting. As I stood there, the whole season flashed before my eyes. It was the beginning of June and I was headed to my first practice, I had a lot of pressure on me as my grandfather’s company, Evans Remodeling, was sponsoring this team for Cherry Park and was friends with Coach Watts. I had played with Coach Watt’s son on other teams in the past and they knew how hard I worked, so they expected me to be a leader. I knew from the start he was going to push us really hard and expect a lot from us. When I showed up to the first practice I was a little relieved seeing others that I had played with in the past and knew they were all really good players. However, we had no idea what was in store for us that day. It was 90 degrees outside and you would have thought...

"Before you get any ideas, I will charge rent, mythological beast or not." "Dad!" Mabel exclaimed. "Don't be rude." Mabel ran up to Bigfoot, giving him a big smile and a hug. Bigfoot smiled back at her. "It's like hugging the floor of a haircut place." Mabel whispered. "But in a good way." "Uh...thanks?" Bigfoot replied confusedly. "Oh my gosh, I can't believe this is happening." Dipper said, barely able to catch his breath in excitement. "I have so many questions for you, Mr. Foot!" "Mr. Foot?" Mabel and Bigfoot questioned at the same time. "Jinx!" Bigfoot and Mabel said at the same time, smirking at each other. "Jinx again! Jinx again!" "Anyways, what's with the 'Mr. Foot'?" Bigfoot asked, chuckling. "Just calling me Bigfoot is fine." "It just sounds weird to me." Dipper replied. "Anyways, the height currently reported for you on Wikipedia is between six feet, seven inches and nine feet, ten inches. What is your actual height?" "Seven feet, four inches tall." "Cool. Do you hang around the Northwest a lot? That's where most of your sightings have been reported." "Sometimes, but I think a lot of people are just seeing shadows." "Have you ever fallen into a trap?" ...How to throw the best Halloween party ever! You will need games, spooky foods, and a scary exhibit. All of these things can be DIY or you can order them! Plus, you can find great things on Pinterest for all of these things. Not only can you DIY but since it's Halloween a lot of places will have things you can buy. For games you need them to be appropriate for all age groups that are coming. If you’re going to have kids there then maybe split the games up, if their are enough kids to play their own games. For games for kids you could have “throw the toilet paper in the toilet” “who can throw the pumpkins the farthest.” When people enter the house you can have a glass of pumpkin stems and they can guess how many for a prize. Games for adults...

...you all of my life. I want so much to jump into this relationship with both feet, but I am so afraid that if I do you will run and my heart will be broken. I know slow and steady is what we need to do, but I find myself wanting more and wanting to know more about you. It has been so long since I have been made to feel wanted or loved. You make me feel that way every time we are together. When I left my marriage, I prayed to the Lord above to send me someone who would be my best friend and partner for the rest of my life. I am so thankful to him for putting you in my life. I now pray that if he sees fit for us to continue this relationship that he will guide us with his hand. I could talk about the future, but I don’t want to put a jinx on it. I want to live in the moment and enjoy the possibilities that each one brings. There is only one person in this big old world that knows what the future holds and he is in control. Jeff I have never met anyone like you. I am so scared that I am going to open my eyes and you are going to be gone. I have fallen for you and have fallen hard. I didn’t mean to fall hard this fast, but you are truly amazing. I want to share as much of my life with you as I can. I want us to create a...

...will be soon. For years, John has said that he would never get married, but it is starting to look like that is not the case. Nikki admitted that John has changed his thoughts on marriage recently. She shared her thoughts on when she thinks it will happen. "So, he’s like ‘let’s go have this romantic dinner.’ I’m like ‘this is it.’ I feel like every moment I’m waiting for it. It’s been my birthday, it’s been an anniversary… the holidays…. I am going to Napa next week. See, I don’t want to get excited. Like I’m ruining everything because I get, like the perfect outfit. And here are those perfect moments and it’s like, ‘okay that was nice’.” Hmm…" One other thing that Nikki Bella shared is that she won't go ring shopping. She doesn't want to jinx it and wants John to do it on his own. Hopefully, John leaned on someone like her sister to help him out if he did buy a ring for Nikki. ...English (11254 Views) Priest is about to wed a husband and a wife. He is just finishing up the ceremony. Priest: Do you John Smith, take this here Josephine to be your wife for all days till death do you part? Husband: Well, what do you think? Priest (confused): I don't know. Husband: Do you really think I brought 200 of my closest friends and relatives, who all by the way dressed in fancy clothes, who all brushed their teeth and trimmed their beards, who spent gallons of perfume and hair products in order to look pretty and smell nice, just so I can announce to the world that this is not the girl I want to marry? Do you really think that is the case? Priest: Well, I, I... Husband: Another thing. Death. Priest: What? Husband: Death. Death. Why would you even mention it in your question? This is a wedding. In case you didn't notice, word death is a little depressing. I don't think it fits the occasion. It's more like a word you would mention at, oh here is the idea, the funeral or something. Are you new at this? Priest (quietly): No, but obviously you are. I wouldn't worry about it, just give it a couple of years of marriage, and death won't sound so depressing anymore. Husband: And how the hell would you know? How many times have you been married? Priest: I cannot marry. I'm a priest. Husband: Well, ain't that just peachy. A single guy. Priest: I just say what they tell me. Just for your information, I'm getting...

...Topic: Gay Marriage Student Name Institution In the recent past different stakeholders have tried to define what constitutes the institution of marriage. In effect, some states give marriage licenses to gay couples, while others have approved “civil unions” yet many other states have forbidden same-sex marriages (Rauch, 2013). In 1996, the federal government passed the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which defined marriage as “…a legal union between one man and one woman” and that “No state shall be required to give effect to any public act, record or judicial proceeding of any other state respecting a relationship between persons of the same sex is treated as marriage” (Rauch, 2013). Consequent to this law, same- sex couples were denied civic advantages otherwise available to heterosexual married couples, and states were not expected to credit same- sex marriage licenses obtained in other states. In 2013, the United States Supreme Court withdrew DOMA section that disapproved gay marriage. However, it left intact the authority of states to acknowledge, or fail to acknowledge, the legality of the same- sex marriage license gotten from a different state (Rauch, 2013). Some legal means that can be used to bring the gay marriage debate to a standstill include the majority rule...

.... How is the word myth used popularly? For example, what does the statement, “It’s a myth” mean? In contrast, how is the word myth used in the academic context? Do not try answering this question without using material from your reading. After considering the definition in your textbooks and course materials, write a definition in your own words. The word myth is used for lying or jinx. For example, people often throw salt, or pepper over their shoulder to avoid bad luck, and they called that act as myth. However, the word myth in the academic context is defined to study of fundamental question for human history. For example, how did the universe and the world come to be? How did we come to be here? Who are we? What are our proper, necessary, or inescapable roles as we relate to one another and to world at large? In my own definition of word myth is that it is study of who the human being had been evolved from the certain kind of situations or events and became how we are today. Also, by studying myth, we can be ready for the future events. For instance, when studying society, people often say ancient Rome, which is good model of success, and failure. Why do myths from different cultures around the world address such similar or universal themes? Think about how myths explain the unknown and the tribulations of mankind. I think people shared somewhat similar myths because even with different cultures and different way of their life, people still have similar problem...
