Equality, prosperity, peace; all powerful words, and all words that could be used to describe both the legendary castled town where King Arthur held his court, and America by the end of John F. Kennedy's presidency. In the same way, there are a number of similarities to be found between America during John F Kennedy's presidency, and Camelot. However, there was one defining difference between the two. While legends frequently speak of how King Arthur and his people got to enjoy the benefits of equality and wealth, history books tell only of how John F Kennedy had to work tirelessly during his presidency to bring about these things in America.

Within a powerful yet regal castle at its center, the King of Camelot was well catered for, as were his loyal subjects. The natural resources provided by the luscious surrounding forests and woodlands enabled the citizens of the city to be well nourished with food and, the city's prosperous state is described countless times, such as in the lines: "Fresh springs doth streams of water drive/Almost through every street." (Churchyard) Meanwhile, America's economy was struggling with unemployment, plummeting profits and depressed stock prices. In spite of this, Kennedy enjoyed a miraculous economic turnaround; so much so that "At the time of his death in November 1963, an employment boom was beginning"(Geewax) Of course, getting America out of its slump was no easier task, but he was determined. Through passing a liberal agenda, that included raising the minimum wage, spending more on highway construction and most notably pushing for lower taxes, he successfully boomed the economy. Unfortunately, the economic growth he produced reached its peak after his assassination in 1964, but he did put a lot of things into motion during his lifetime, that impacted the country for years
