I believe that he says this because in marriage requires sacrifice and constant learning of how to give oneself up for their partner. In marriage, an individual must give up their desires out of respect for their partner to ensure that the union is fair.

#2: As it is said in the text, Ephesians 5:22-23 are some of the most misunderstood verses of the Bible because they are usually analyzed in isolation, outside of the context of the verses before and after them. #2: Pope John Paul II called marriage the primordial sacrament because it was the original sacrament that began all the way from the beginning when Adam and Eve were first created and has lasted all the way up to the modern day civilization.

#3:I think that the primordial sacrament of marriage leads us to the other sacraments of the Church because it is the basis for everything else. To be married in a Catholic Church, an individual must be baptized, have received first communion, and been confirmed. This is the way the primordial sacrament leads us to all of the others, by being the ultimate end of all sacraments, it ensures that an individual who wishes to get married does all other required sacraments. In this process, the person experiences the full breadth of the Catholic faith through their journey of the sacraments to marriage.

#4: I do not think that anyone plans on getting divorced; rather, it is an occurrence that happens when two individuals marry for the wrong reasons.
