Random Facts:
John Peter Zengar, publisher of the New York Weekly Journal was charged with libel in 1735 for printing negative statements about the governor. His lawyer, Alexander Hamilton convinced the jury John spoke the truth, and that was the beginning of Freedom of the Press.
Stamp Act - Passed in 1765, all paper goods had to be taxed and stamped to prove it was paid. Many boycotts broke out where the colonist refused to pay the tax. Stamp agents were sometimes tarred and feathered.
The British soldiers were nicknamed Redcoats who were so-called because of their red uniforms. They were also called Lobster-backs.

Militiamen attacked them, when the smoke cleared 8 militiamen were dead and only one British soldier was injured. Was known as “The Shot Heard Around the World,” because it was a war of thought and the mind. (And we are Homo Sapiens, “a human of the mind. (Does that make it a War Sapiens, “a war of the mind?”)) The British headed back to Boston, but were ambushed by militiamen hiding in the trees and behind them.
Bunker Hill: June 17, 1775. British General Howe sent to Charlestown to stop Americans from getting able to fire their cannons into Boston. The British charged up the hill; (Breeds Hill, first.) Americans shot at them from the top of the hill. The third charge succeeded only because the Americans ran out of ammo. (They then threw rocks and used their guns like clubs at the British.) There was a famous quote from American General Prescott: “Hold your fire until you see the whites of their eyes.” (Rick Riordan and Hela from Magnus Chase doubt it.) Americans lost, :(, even though we killed more of the British. :) The Americans (Actually the Green Mountain Boys led by Ethan Allen) took Fort Ticonderoga, on Lake Champlain.
