The outsiders take place in Tulsa,OK in the mid 1060´s. There are two groups of teenagers, who are the greasers who are the lower class and the socs who are the upper class that constantly battle for turf, tittle, and life. All created by S.E Hinton who is the author . The character Johnny Cade is Suicidal, Quiet, and Loveable and I am about to tell you how he's all of these three things. First of all, Johnny was very Quiet around people. Even Ponyboy Curtis said ¨ I have quite a rep for being Quiet, almost as Quiet as Johnny¨ (pg 34 S.E Hinton). This shows that Johnny was Quiet. Heres another example that Johnny was Quiet. ¨… I knew Johnny wouldn't open his mouth unless he was forced to¨ (pg 13 S.E Hinton). This also shows that Jonny was Quiet. Johnny was quiet because Johnny had a hard home life so he learned to never talk unless talked to, but not only did he have a hard home life he was in the gang with the greasers so he also had a time and a place to be able to feel loved by the gang when he never had that at home. …show more content…
