Neurological:
The patient is required to be neurologically stable, alert and orientated to person, place, and time, a normal pupillary reflex and a GCS >11/15 where appropriate. In John’s case, his GCS was evaluated as regularly as individually indicated. This requirement was greater in the initial stages when John was sedated on Dexmedetomidine and Midazolam, and he was intubated to assess his neurological status. On the morning of extubation, John was off sedation and scored a GCS of 11/15 due to being tubed. He was alert and able to follow commands. He had mild weakness to all four limbs which would be indicative of his current condition and his pupils were equal round and reactive to light. Upon discharge from ICU John was alert, orientated
