...damn dog just rest? After I go outside for exactly 3 minutes, I realise I have to deal with my boss in exactly 48 minutes. I sit and moan for two minutes. Any more I would be late and any less I would be early: it has to be exactly two minutes. Afterward, I do my normal six-minute shower, I take another 6 minutes to brush my hair, 4 minutes to brush – just like the dentist told me – and five minutes to figure out what I am going to wear today. That leaves me 4 minutes to sit and read The Daily Telegraph and moan about having to drive 20 minutes to a job that I can’t stand. Once I arrive, it takes 2 minutes to hear the lame story about what Ron, the guy two cubicles down, did last night and four minutes ’til I get to hear my boss complain that I never do anything right. Spending 9 and a half hours at my job, driving 26 minutes home, taking two minutes to take Percy out and only getting 25 minutes to myself before lying down in my hard, cold bed and not falling asleep for another 12 minutes can really drive someone crazy. At least that is what my therapist tells me. But it doesn’t make me crazy; it makes everyone else crazy for not wanting to know how much time they actually have. The thing that will make you crazy is if something goes wrong. Something that has been happening the same way for exactly 12 years. When that one thing goes wrong, all hell breaks loose. For instance, if you wake 46 minutes late because there is no damn dog barking for you to take him out....

...Group of Hospitals to reduce the waiting times of simple fracture patients by optimizing processes and following efficient practices, by reducing unnecessary patient and staff movement across the Emergency Department and by improving customer service through a patient-oriented culture. The proposed efficiency model can reduce the waiting time for simple fracture patients requiring procedure to just 123 minutes from 317 minutes. Our detailed recommendations for management are as follows: * Reduce the long waiting times by optimizing processes and following efficient practices. Long waiting times are patients’ biggest concern. Patients have to wait long since many processes in ED are inefficient due to duplication, disorganization and lack of technology. Eliminating data repetition and embracing technology powered best practices will help optimize processes and reduce lead times. * Eliminate duplication of data in Triage: In the triage area, the nurse documents the “History and Physical” (H&P) information about the patient on a sheet of paper, which takes up four minutes. Thereafter, the nurse enters the same information in EMR. This duplication...

...4 tbsp. ghee. Step 3. Add the shredded carrots into the ghee and mix well. Step 4. Fry until the carrots turn pale. Compare picture above and below. Do you see the color difference in the carrots? Carrots have turned pale which means they won’t have raw smell. You’ll now feel a kind of sweet smell from the carrots. This process takes around 10 minutes. Add the milk. Step 5. I used 3 cups of milk. i.e. enough milk to submerge the carrots so that they get cooked well in the milk. Allow the milk to boil. Takes 5 minutes. Step 6. Let the carrots get cooked well in the milk. The carrots should drink in all the milk. This will take 20-30 minutes. Stir the content from time to time to prevent scorching. [Duration will sure come down if you use a wide wok. btw, is anybody looking at my scorched vessel? I’ve to get non-stick set <note to the husband>] Step 7. Once the milk is completely drunk, add in the sugar. Mix well. Reduce flame to Medium. Once sugar is added, the content tends to liquefy (picture in the right). Need not alarm. Stir at regular intervals. We need to wait until the mixture turns thick. This will take around 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile work on Step 8 and 9. barfii Ingredients: * Cashew – 1 ¼ to 1 ½ cups [ I used whole cashews...

...The workout of the day is a high intensity interval training(HIIT), full body workout. I love high intensity interval training (HIIT) because I can get in a great workout in less time. HIIT workouts are an exercise strategy of alternating intense exercise with less intense recovery periods. These types of workouts can increase athletic conditioning and improve fat burning. You are basically working out for 20 seconds of high intensity followed by 10 seconds of rest/low intensity. After 4 minutes of alternating high intensity and rest/low intensity you get to rest for 1 minute. After your rest you go to round 2 and so on. You can add as many rounds as you would like, but I would not recommend doing HIIT for more than 30 minutes. The...

Using a flowchart is a great way to identify the factors and find a more resourceful way to complete the task in a shorter amount of time. Here are a few factors that affect the design process: 1. What time do I get up? 2. Do I get up at 7:30 or hit the snooze until 8:00? 3. Do I take a shower before I get my son ready for school, or an hour later? 4. Are my work clothes already selected, or do I have to pick them out in the morning along with ironing them? 5. Do I eat breakfast at home or grab it at a restaurant 6. ...com/2007/06/23/business/23checkout.html Starbucks at 9 a.m.? Eight minutes, head to the next one down the street. Duane Reade at 6 p.m.? Twelve minutes, come back in the morning. But now a relative newcomer to Manhattan is trying to teach the locals a new rule of living: the longer the line, the shorter the wait. Come again? For its first stores here, Whole Foods, the gourmet supermarket, directs customers to form serpentine single lines that feed into a passel of cash registers. Banks have used a similar system for decades. But supermarkets, fearing a long line will scare off shoppers, have generally favored the one-line-per-register system. By 7 p.m. on a weeknight, the lines at each of the four Whole Foods stores in Manhattan can be 50 deep, but they zip along faster than most lines with 10 shoppers. Because people stand in the same line, waiting for a register to become available, there are no “slow” lines, delayed by a coupon-counting customer or languid cashier. And since Whole Foods charges premium prices for its organic fare, it can afford to staff dozens of registers, making the line move even faster. “No way,” is how Maggie Fitzgerald recalled her first reaction to the line at the Whole Foods in Columbus Circle. For weeks, Ms. Fitzgerald, 26, would not shop there alone, assigning a friend to fill a grocery cart while she stood in line. When she discovered the wait was about 4 minutes, rather than 20, she began shopping by herself, and found it faster...

...English 100 October 10, 2012 Through Students Eyes: Before The Bell Rings A seven minute passing time. It takes three minutes to get from the history building to the English building, two if I run. But my history teacher tends to keep us after class for around a minute. That will leave me with four minutes, give or take, to sit down and complete this English outline. Even easier, I can just ask Alex if I can just borrow his paper. The teacher wouldn’t even notice and Alex can care less, another minute shaved off for me. Ready, set, and go. That is now becoming the usual life for a high school student in the 21st century, rushing to class in order to get work done, just before the bell rings. The mentality of high school students going into college is slowly becoming less and less focused on education. Knowing that in high school they can get an easy “A”, student’s focus more on trying to fit in with the crowd. Trying to act cool by following others, because who studies anymore? Most students will tell themselves that studying is not important and they will pass the class regardless. Students get used to obtaining good grades in their classes when they do not deserve it, which leads to a struggling college life. They get too accustomed to getting something they don’t deserve and don’t realize that their quality of work is not good enough material to earn them, not get them, an “A” on a paper. High school is not preparing students well enough to succeed in college, therefore...
