Dear Dr. De Luise:

I am pleased to present the report you authorized on February 16, 2015, regarding the feasibility of potential skating options for the upcoming birthday party.

An analysis of both Skate and Fun Zone and Cavalier found that, although both alternatives offered great options, Cavalier better met our chosen criteria in cost, food options, and operating time. It is therefore the recommendation that we utilize Cavalier for my daughter’s upcoming birthday party.

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to research potential party choices. I appreciate your consideration of my recommendation. Should you have any questions regarding this report, please do not hesitate to contact me at (540) 295-3447.

Sincerely,

Kendra Holmes

Executive Summary
This report examines the feasibility of two roller skating rinks for the upcoming birthday party. Methods of analysis include calls to each rink as well as Internet research to evaluate cost, menus, operating times, customer reviews, and investigate overall party packages. The results of the data show that both examined rinks are quality alternatives with a range of costs, options, and acceptable customer reviews.

However the report finds that, while both analyzed alternatives provide similar products and services, Cavalier most closely meets the criteria presented in terms of overall cost effectiveness, operating times, and food options. It is therefore recommended that Alternative B, Cavalier, be chosen as the vendor for Kendra’s daughter’s birthday party.

Roller Skating Birthday Party

Kendra is preparing for her daughter’s birthday party. Kendra feels that her daughter is deserving of a birthday party. She has decided that a roller skating birthday party would be the best option away from home.
The Justification Report presents the need to determine a suitable rink to serve as a vendor for the upcoming birthday party. It presents the scope of the problem, presents two potential vendor choices, and evaluates them utilizing five criteria to best decide which vendor meets the unique needs of Kendra and her daughter. The report focuses on two local rink alternatives that have been recommended by parents from school. Internet research was conducted as well as personal interviews, and a final recommendation is provided.
Problem Statement
Kendra has a problem: A birthday party is in order for her oldest daughter. Unfortunately, they cannot decide which roller skating rink to choose from. All of the businesses attempt to entice her with the promise of coupons, great food, longer operating times, and more. How is she to choose? Her daughter’s twelve friends, plus her and her sister, all have a desire to skate and some have their own skates, but to make matters interesting, she has a budget of $300.
Report Overview
This report was created to help Kendra choose the best rink for her daughter’s birthday party. Kendra investigated two alternatives to determine the best options for the party. The two vendors researched were Alternative A (Skate and Fun Zone) and Alternative B (Cavalier). Kendra’s criteria in which to judge the alternatives were as follows: cost, promotions, already have skates, food with options (since several children are vegans), and operating time. Research methods included calls, Internet research (for customer reviews), and in-person visits to both places of business. An evaluation of the two alternatives revealed that Alternative B, Cavalier, should be recommended, since it offered four advantages that Skate and Fun Zone could not: more children could attend, invitations were provided, a personalized birthday cake, and free passes to come back.
Overview of Alternatives
The following two alternatives considered in this report meet Kendra’s criteria:
Alternative A – Skate and Fun Zone: Located on Sudley Rd., Skate and Fun Zone is a fairly new establishment gaining a reputation for awesome fun and reasonable prices. Skate and Fun Zone features glow in the dark skating and fresh new food. They also offer laser tag. Included in parties are cupcakes, tokens for games, goodie bags, and free adult skate. They offer great discounts to include a military discount.
Alternative B – Cavalier: Located on Jefferson Davis Highway, Cavalier is an older rink that is family owned and operated. They have a friendly staff with smiling faces to serve the guests. They have a stocked snack bar for the guests to enjoy. They offer music and games of your choosing played by the DJ. And they have roller skates and roller blades. They offer additional items for purchase such as balloon drops, glow sticks, and personalized birthday cakes.
Criteria
Kendra stressed that following five criteria would be used to judge the feasibility of each alternative: 1. Cost – How much will the rink cost? Kendra said she did not want to spend more than $300 for fourteen children to roller skate and consume food. Kendra also stated she would like the rink to be somewhat close to home.

2. Promotions? Kendra mentioned that she would like to use coupons or discounts.

3. Already have skates? Kendra stated that some of the children have their own skates.

4. Great food with options? Two of the children are vegans and Kendra would like an alternative to suit these children.

5. Operating time - How long do the kids have to skate and eat? Kendra stated that she would prefer options with a longer skate time so the children can eat, skate, and open presents.

Research Methods
Research methods included calls to each alternative to determine the promotions running and approximate operating time the children have to skate. The Internet websites of both alternatives were consulted in an effort to view what each had to offer for birthday parties. Other websites featuring customer reviews of the two alternatives were also consulted to find secondary references. The children responded with how long they would be available and which rink they preferred. A visit to both rinks with Kendra’s daughters was conducted to view the establishments and to see what they offered. Samples of the food were consumed and the daughters were able to skate.
Evaluation of Alternatives
Cost
1. Alternative A – charged $289.95 for 8 guests with an additional charge of $132.00 for the remainder of guests (6). 2. Alternative B – charged $300.00 for all 14 guests with no additional charges.
Promotions
1. Alternative A – Offers a military discount. However, discount can't be applied for birthday parties. 2. Alternative B – Does not currently offer any discounts to their birthday parties.
Already Have Skates 1. Alternative A – Offers skating and skate rental included in the price of the birthday party. 2. Alternative B – Offers skating and skate rental included in the price of the birthday party. Additionally, they also offer a $1 upcharge if you would like to rent rollerblades.
Great Food with Options 1. Alternative A – provided no vegan options included. 2. Alternative B – provided several options included to accommodate the vegan guests.
Operating Time 1. Alternative A – Offers a 45 minute table time in the party room with unlimited skate time. 2. Alternative B – Offers a 60 minute table time in the party room with unlimited skate time. Findings and Analysis
While both Alternatives A and B offered great options, Alternative B offered greater options included in their price (Skating 2. (n.d.).

Additionally, Alternative B offered invitations, custom birthday cake, free passes for all guests to come back, and skating lessons for the birthday child.

Another issue that had to be considered was the option for the vegan guests. Alternative A did not offer vegan options included in the cost of the party. For an additional charge, you could choose these options. Alternative B included popcorn in the price of the party and offered an additional item to be added at no additional cost.

Operating time played a huge factor when considering both alternatives. Alternative B’s operating time was fifteen minutes more than that of Alternative A. Consequently, Alternative B seemed a wiser choice because if offered more time in the room for cake and presents.

Although most children do not exercise as they should, roller skating provides a fun and easy way to get the exercise you need. Roller skating can provide an aerobic workout that improves cardiovascular health. According to Roller Skating International, roller skating helps encourage weight loss by burning calories and by toning muscles, which burn more calories than fat even in their resting state. Roller skating for 25 minutes three times a week can burn up to 750 additional calories for the week (Kennedy, A.L. (2014). Based on the information obtained, it appears that Alternative B comes out to be the better option offering the most benefits.

For a graphic depiction of the findings and analysis, see Figure 1 below:

Criteria | Alternative A (Skate and Fun Zone) | Alternative B (Cavalier) | Cost | More expensive | Cheaper | Promotions | None | None | Already Have Skates | Included | Included | Great Food with Options | Good | Best | Operating Time | 45 minutes | 60 Minutes | Total Feasibility | Low-Moderate | High |

Figure 1: Graphic Analysis of Findings
Recommendation
It is recommended that Kendra should get the birthday party package from Cavalier. They offer more children to be invited and have a longer operating time. The total package with all options included will cost a total of $300

As a result, articles being out dated and a good number of them are used as case studies. I have conducted three publications, such as – Journal of International Business, Journal of Taxation and Journal of Business Ethics. All of three publications are very much interesting to me. After conducting my research on three publications, I chose the Journal of Business Ethics as my favorites out of the three. The Journal of Business Ethics provides publications on ethical issues related to business, and analyses of systems of production, consumption, marketing, economic accounting, public relations, and organization behavior. I chose it because, from 1982 till present (2011) its frequency is 29 and cost is very reliable for our company. Also, in one of its issues in 2011 by Shum and Yam, they suggest a new model that is rapidly growing called Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) that can fulfill social and economic responsibility simultaneously. It continues by explaining how managers that adopt CSR model will attain profits in their business enterprise. Implementing the use of CSR to our company would help our company rapidly grow and achieve...

...INTRODUCTION The budget is the financial expression of the project and should accurately reflect the costs of the proposed research/education/service program. The budget justification provides the sponsor agency and reviewers of the application with information such as why costs are programmatically necessary and how they are calculatced. Reviewers will analyze the financial data to determine if the proposed costs are allocable to the program, allowable under federal cost principles or non-federal sponsor guidelines (whichever is applicable), reasonable and treated consistently by the institution and similar organizations. When the University receives an award, the approved budget items become part of the agreement between the University and the sponsor. Only those costs that are included in the budget or re-budgeted costs allowed by the sponsor should be directly charged to the award. If the cost requires prior institutional and/or sponsor approval after the award is made, the approval must be secured before the cost is incurred. Therefore, it is important to develop a budget that will enable the PI to fulfill all of the programmatic requirements of the project. A budget and budget justification must be provided for: • Proposed direct costs • Proposed cost share • Estimated program income, including projected revenue and expenditures • Facilities and Administration (F&A or Indirect Costs) FUNDING SOURCES One of the first steps in developing a budget is...

...THE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES Looking at both debates, it seems both candidates are using lines and words for their ad campaigns to point out the other’s faults and their strengths. The format of a Town Hall setting is not as useful or structured as the last debate at the Lynn University. The Town Hall is too much of a “get your question asked” style with the candidates yelling and talking over each other. The moderators seem to lose control of the debate as it went on and it was more of a shouting match then an actual debate. Also the debates feature a the incumbent, who has 3 ½ years of a record to go on, and the challenger, who hasn’t been a Governor for awhile and has no record, per se, to run on and can easily say ‘I can do better than the President”. As for the debate itself, questions are being asked but neither candidate is willing to give full answers or barely answer the question. They seem to already have a script of what they intend to say and repeatedly veer off topic to other points they want to make. As far as the Social and economic issues, they are clear contrast on how each candidate wants to tackle things. The one pressing question I would have for both of them are how they expect to get the things down with a Congress controlled by the Republicans and the Senate controlled by the Democrats. For example, President Obama said “Fiscal Cliff” is not going to happen but how does he get the Republicans to go along with the not letting sequestration without...

...Challenges in the Global Business Environment Jusef Strayer University BUS475: Business and Society Challenges in the Global Business Environment We as consumers always want to understand the motive and integrity behind the companies that we buy from. Whether it is to make profit for their company and genuinely provide for the consumer, or to solely make profit for themselves. As consumers, one wants to be reassured that when we do purchase products from these companies that manufacturers will always remain respectful and empathic with issues that arise, have the consumers best interest at heart, and more importantly is the company ethically sound about decision making, and do they hold veracity when it comes to the reliability of their company. One could ask what is ethics and conduct? Ethics is depicted as, “rules of behavior that is based on ideas about what is morally good and bad,” (Merriam-Webster, 2014). Conduct is described as, “ a mode or standard of personal behavior especially based on moral principles,” (Merriam-Webster, 2014). ...Alston Professor Traci Wilmoth ENG 315: Professional Communications May 8, 2016 Problem Statement At the end of the 2016, we must complete and provide an auditor’s report to the National Federal Financial Review Board (NFFRB), just as we do every year. However, our current audit contactor has decided to discontinue its services to our company. This proposes a huge problem because without a detailed and thorough auditing service and financial report, we run the risk of failing Federal Government accountability guidelines and required financial transparency. We must decide how we will proceed with meeting our fiscal financial requirements. Overview of Alternatives Alternative A – Start a government-wide bidding process to solicit audit service vendor proposals from a list of reputable auditor contractors. Alternative B – Choose to request an extension from NFFRB to the deadline date to allow our organization the time to research and procure an appropriate auditor contact, and prepare the agency-wide documents, supporting documentation and consideration of costs. Criteria Per the Agency’s policy requirements, the following criteria must be considered: 1. We must choose from competitive, and highly recommended options/sources. Details of researched sources must be included in report. 2. The audit contractor must agree to a 5-year contract.
