...Esala Perahera (the festival of the tooth relic) is a grand festival of Esala held in Kandy. It is very majestic with elegant costumes of the participents and the elephants. Esala perahara holds in July or August .It has become a unique symbol of Sri Lanka. It is a Buddhist festival consisting of dances and nicely decorated elephants. There are fire-dances, whip-dances, Kandyan dances and various other cultural dances. The elephants are usually decorated with lavish costumes. The festival ends with the traditional 'diya-kepeema'. History The Esala procession is believed to be a combination of two separate but interconnected "Peraheras"– The Esala and Dalada. The Esala Perahera which is thought to date back to the 3rd century BC, was a ritual enacted to request the gods for rainfall. The Dalada Perahera is believed to have begun when the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha was brought to Sri Lanka from India during the 4th century B.C.The Tooth Relic was brought to Sri Lanka by Princess Hemamala & Prince Dantha. Modern Perahera The Modern Perahera dates back to the reign of the Kandyan King Kirthi Sri Rajasinghe (1747–1781). During these times, the Tooth Relic was considered private property of the King and the public never got a chance to worship it. However, King Rajasinghe decreed that the Relic be taken in procession for the masses to see and respect. After the Kandyan Kingdom fell to the British in 1815, the custody of the Relic was handed over to the Maha Sanga (the...

...generally mean, waking up late, playing with friends and relatives, going places, eating lots of food and watching a lot of cartoons on TV. That was the way it was for me… but in addition to that we went a on a trip too. My father had his vacation that same month and our whole family was over-joyed. We decided to spend the month in Kandy at one of our relatives’ house. It was the most AWESOME Vacation we ever had. Their house was soooo beautiful and their garden, like a paradise. The house was small, but that was another reason why it was fun, because I had to share rooms with the son at that house who was the same age as me. We were so mischievous and were up to all kinds of fun. At nights after our parents had told us to go to sleep, we would secretly play video games or fighting games, or pillow fights, or act like we are camping until the late hours. His name was Mustafa. Anyways together Mustafa and I went on bike rides and helped his mother in the garden. He loved gardening and he taught me how to plant a seed and how to ensure it has the right conditions for growth. I used to think gardening was just a tiresome task, but when I did it at Kandy I discovered it was some type of meditation. There is something beautiful about working in the fresh air in the silence. Mustafa gave me a rose cutting and taught me how to plant it. It was...

...01.What is Normalization? Process of organizing data or information in a database is called as Normalization. creating tables and establishing relationships between those tables according to rules are included to the process of normalization. It is designed to protect the data and to make the database more flexible. Flexible can be done by eliminating redundancy and inconsistent dependency. Redundant data and information mainly dissipate hard disk space in the machine and makes maintenance problems for the system. If data or information is chanced in somewhere which is already exist in more than that place that every place must be changed exactly the same way in all locations. If data is stored in only one place in a table, it is easy to made data and information changings. What is "inconsistent dependency"? When it is intuitive for a system operator to search data in the Customers table for a name of a customer in the company, it may not show details for the Address of the searched employee. The employee's address is related to, or dependent on the employee and it should not be moved to employee’s name table. Inconsistent dependency can make data difficult to access, because the path to find the data may be missing or broken. Normalization There are a rules for normalize a database. Each rule is called as "normal form." Rules are starting from 1st normal form. It goes like 1st normal form, 2nd normal form, 3rd normal from, 4th normal form and so on. If...

...signed on with The New York Herald Tribune where he was encouraged to break the conventions into his writing. During the 1962 newspaper strike, Tom approached the Esquire magazine about an article on the hot rod and custom car culture of Southern California. Tom struggled with the story. He took too long and Byron Dobell desperate for the story asked for his notes. Wolfe procrastinated until on the evening before the article was due. He typed a letter to Dobell tell him what he wanted to say in the article. Dobell sneakily remove the "Dear Byron" from the the letter and publish the rest. What was left, published in 1964, was "There Goes (Varoom! Varoom!) That Kandy-Kolored Tangerine-Flake Streamline Baby." The article was magnet for attention and was widely discussed and helped Wolfe publish his first book, The Kandy-Kolored Tangerine-Flake Streamline Baby, which was just a bunch of his pieces while at the Post and the Herald. His first book was hit and his fame grew rapidly. Then he published his second book in 1968 The Pump House Gang which was about how American life in the 1960s was revolutionized by post-WWII economic prosperity. ...What is the Buddhist analysis of human life? Introduction It is well known that according to Buddhism, human-being is a combination of ever‐changing physical and mental forces or energies. To have a deep analysis of the human life, Buddhism divides the human beings into five groups as “five aggregates”. This technical term contains the Aggregate of Matter, the Aggregate of Sensations, the Aggregate of Apperceptions, the Aggregate of Mental Formations, and finally is the Aggregate of Consciousness. The five aggregates are essential for Buddhism to analyze human life, which also show that Buddhist analysis of human life focuses more on mind than the physical things. In addition, the examination of the five aggregates is important in Buddha’s teaching for at least four reasons as mentioned below. Firstly, as we all know, all four noble truths focus on suffering and the five aggregates are the ultimate referent of the first noble truth. Therefore, it is important to understand the five aggregates in advance, in order to further analyze the Four Noble Truth. Also, they are the objective domain of clinging and can help analyze the causal origination of suffering in the future. Thirdly, in order to release from suffering, the removal of clinging is an essential step, which is tightly related to the objects around (King 1989, 158). And its tentacles are named as five aggregates. Finally, in order to obtain the wisdom that can have a clear and accurate insight into the real nature...
