The project undertaken is to design the architecture of a hotel management system.
The main aim of the entire activity is to automate the process of day to day activities of Hotel like Room activities, Admission of a New Customer, Assign a room according to customer’s demand, checkout of a computer and releasing the room and finally compute the bill etc.
The limited time and resources have restricted us to incorporate, in this project, only a main activity that are performed in a HOTEL Management System, but utmost care has been taken to make the system efficient and user friendly.
“Hotel Management System” has been designed to computerize the following functions that are performed by the system:
1) Room Detail Functions: * Opening a New Room * Modification to room assigned
2) Check-in and check-out Detail Functions: * Admission of New customer * Check-out of customer * Room assigning related to customer’s need.
4) Total number of Customers in the Hotel * Individual customer Report

1.2 SCOPE OF PROBLEM:
Hotel Management System is concerned with providing the information required by a hotel to book rooms and clears the bills of customers. The hotel decides to computerize room booking and customer checkout formalities. The hotel has various types of rooms. It wants to allow booking online through the internet besides normal booking by phone, letter and also spot booking on arrival of the customer. Customer food, laundry chargers etc are sent to the reception desk accountant for manual updating of accounts .The hotel has only 200 rooms even more.
This Software enables customers to register online or face to face. It also enables easy handling for the staff members i.e. entry of data of customers, change in room, cancellation, billing process etc. can be done by the staff with no additional effort.
