In the movie Split it tells the story about a man named Kevin Wendell Crumb that has 23 personalities inside of him. Crumb has what is called Multiple Personality Disorder or DID. Multiple Personality Disorder or DID is a complex psychological condition that is likely caused by many factors, including severe trauma during early childhood. By having so much trauma in someone’s life it can cause a lack of connection in a person's thoughts, memories, feelings, actions, or sense of identity. This is what caused Kevin to be this way because he was brutally abused by his mother. Although, Kevin Wendell Crumb is actually not shown until the end of the movie all his personalities are shown throughout. Casey starts to have flashbacks of being molested when she was young by her uncle John, who became her legal guardian after her father's death. Dr. Fletcher starts to think Kevin is responsible for the kidnappings, because she has been getting weird emails saying “help us”. She goes to Kevin’s house and finds Claire. Kevin finds out that Dr. Fletcher saw thus and, drugged her, and locked up her by "Dennis", who then starts to turns into "The Beast" on a bus. “The Beast” is very strong and powerful, and can climb walls. Dr. Fletcher knows that the only way to get Kevin, who is good, is to say his full name, so she writes his name on a piece of paper before being killed by "The Beast". "The Beast" then kills and eats Marcia and Claire, while Casey sees Dr. Fletcher's dead body and she sees her note. She starts to say his full name, and then Kevin comes out. He horrified by his actions, and he tells Casey to kill him with his shotgun before his other personalities start coming out. "The Beast" comes back out, and she starts to shoots him, but it does not doing anything, but gets him angrier. "The Beast" starts to bend apart the bars of a cage that Casey locked herself
