...Strategic Analysis of Kismet Inc. At present, Kismet Inc. (hereinafter alternatively “the company”) has leveraged a viable business model into modest success in its niche Canadian market, and the principals appear to possess the professional credentials, background and experience needed to effectively lead this company and achieve its corporate goals. Further, the envisioned expansion of the company’s market to include contractors and as a distributor to other retailers represents an excellent opportunity to increase its sales in its current market. The company’s current and envisioned marketing approach, though, is failing to take advantage of a number of opportunities that could help it grow and achieve its corporate goals, including most especially: • The company does not use catalog sales; • The company apparently does not even have a Web site or any online sales; • The company is not using social media networks to promote its business; • The company has a single, small retail outlet only; and, • The company otherwise has a sole reliance on one individual to sell a limited product range for its mobile tool shows which are its primary source of revenues. The financing being sought by the principals is reasonable given their proven ability to generate revenues, coordinate international sourcing, and a limited amount of competition in their market niche, but the “all their eggs in one basket” approach to sales could doom the company before it has...

...him. Where as Eliezer’s father was a very serious man, he became more emotional. “His voice was damp from tears” (Wiesel, 2006, p. 88). Knowing the kismet of their life was to die, changed both men. Whether it was to late or not is up to the reader. Lastly, the comparison to the faith development in the two boys. In “Life is Beautiful” (2000), we do not know what the boys view on God is, but he has faith in his father. At the beginning his father told him to listen to the people that were in charge and to take a shower; but, he disobeyed, and it saved his life. Later in the story his father told him to hide and he obeyed (Life is beautiful, 2000), saving his life and showing how much he believed his father. However, Eliezer had a faith in God; he loses his faith in God. “where is God?’ and from within me, I heard a voice answer: ‘Where He is? This is where-hanging here from this gallows…’” (Wiesel, 2006). He thought God was dead, and God was truly dead to him; but, luckily Eliezer returned to the faith years later. Both boys in both stories developed in their faith. The holocaust is portrayed both similarly and differently through the fathers and the sons, developments of the fathers, and the faith development in the two boys. At the time of death of both fathers, their closeness with there sons gave them hope. Knowing the kismet of their life was to die, changed both men. Finally, both boys struggled with faith, in the end they kept that faith burning. For two boys of the 135...

...Artificial Intelligence Growing up, I watched and enjoyed movies such as Short Circuit, Space Camp, and the Terminator. There would be no doubt in my mind that we as humans would be able to create artificial intelligence. I figured it was a no brainer as a watched the robots on the big screen think and make decisions on their own without any human input. Later on, as an adult you begin to realize that movies are fiction and it would take a very intelligent human to create artificial life that could make its own decisions and function like a human. With the help of Hollywood, when we think of artificial intelligence, we tend to think of immense robots that walk, talk, appear human, and also make friends with people such as a human would do. We need to examine the meaning of the word artificial intelligence. All textbooks define the field as "the study and design of intelligent agents" where an intelligent agent is a system that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximize its chances of success. John McCarthy, who coined the term in 1956, defines it as "the science and engineering of making intelligent machines.” Reading these definitions brings a greater understanding as to what artificial intelligence is and the fact remains that it has been around a lot longer than we think. I remember my mother buying a vacuum in 2002 called the iRobot. It would roam around the house without a handle or a remote control and vacuum the carpet. The iRobot would know when...

It is the process of assessing the viability of a new product or service through techniques such as surveys, product testing and focus groups. Without it, we will not have a true understanding of who will buy the product, or if we will have enough profit to make a living. For this plan three key elements of market research will be utilized. The first is to identify the target market, here, considerations range from age, income, and ethnicity. Using St Vincent’s latest population census figures we have established that there are 74000 females in the country and 38000 are between the ages of 21-55 years of age with a stable job. Secondly, we must know our competition. The makeup industry sells about $ 1 million worth of goods annually. Black Opal and Sacha Cosmetics are among the most recognizable companies that offer these products. Third is to get to know current and future trends...

...Wireless DoS Attacks: Deauthentication-Disassociation Flood Attack There are several benefits and limitations of the 802.11 wireless standard. Benefits include mobility, ease of deployment, and flexibility, but the drawbacks include limited bandwidth when compared to wired connections and security features, since anyone within transmission range can collect communications (University of Maryland University College, 2012, pp. 5-6). As noted in Module 9, there are a variety of ways that WEP and WPA/WPA2 authentication can be circumvented. Notably, WEP is prone to FMS Attacks (including Korek and PTW variations) and ChopChop Attacks (University of Maryland University College, 2012, pp. 29-40). WPA and WPA2 are vulnerable to brute-force dictionary attacks (pp. 41-46). And Bluetooth is susceptible to a variety of attacks, including: bluesnarfing, bluejacking, bluebugging, car whisperer and fuzzing (pp. 47-48). According to Symantec’s Jonathan Hassell, in his 2010 article “Wireless Attacks and Penetration Testing”, there are three types of wireless network attacks: Denial of Service (DoS), man in the middle, and ARP Poisoning. Missing from his list is key-cracking or bypassing wireless authentication, but Hassell does not consider this a pure attack (p. 1). Regardless of Hassell’s definition of a wireless attack, there are a variety of attacks not provided within Module 9 that deserve consideration. The DoS attack focuses on denying the availability of a resource. Albert...

...on the list of most famous pirates of all time ("William"). Some famous people that published work in honor of William Kidd were Bob Dylan in his song “Bob Dylan's 115th Dream” and Emily Dickens in her poem “Trust in the Unexpected”. Kidd’s legacy of buried treasure also lives on today in a modern form of thievery. By burying goods in pockets and bags and taking illegally what is not theirs, shoplifters are following in the footsteps of William Kidd. Today stances on shoplifting varies depending upon what state the crime was committed in. In New Orleans, a man stole a jacket worth 159 dollars and he is now serving a life sentence in prison (Pilkington). This is the fate of thousands today living out life sentences for shoplifting. The kismet of these thousands and Kidd are very similar, they all had their freedom revoked because of illegally stealing, and all of them will die under the government’s power as a consequence for their crimes. Shoplifters and Pirates alike, if caught, both pay high prices for what today is viewed as petty crimes. Was it worth it? William led a most seemly average life for his time period. He was born to an average family in an average city and married an average wife. This averageness changed only when he started to follow his dream to join the navy. This made his life become legendary. Kidd was assigned a secret mission to capture French pirates. In an ironic twist the next time Kidd came back to England he himself had become a pirate. He had buried...

...Characters in novels generally end up somewhere. Whether it be at the end of a book or a series or maybe even in the next chapter, authors give all major characters a fate. While the term fate suggests a negative connotation, they can be favorable and uplifting such as all of the “...and they lived happily ever after” at the end of most fairy tales. Though this would be a great hault for all books, some characters are not as fortunate with their fates. Often times characters are given more detrimental outcome. This could be something as simple as a broken limb or as severe as a fatality. One example of a less fortunate kismet is recorded in A Separate Peace by John Knowles. Gene Forrester is the narrator and alumni of Devon: a prep school...

...between the Montague’s and Capulet’s was “fated” to end by the meeting, falling in love, and the deaths of their children. All this was to have them understand the deadly cost of their feud, the loss of Tybalt, Mercutio, Paris Lady Montague, and ultimately Romeo and Juliet was not worth the “feud.” As the prince stated: [Rom. V.III.301-305] “Where be these enemies? Capulet, Montague See what scourge is laid upon your hate That heaven finds meant to kill your joys with love And I, for winking at your discords too, Have lost a brace of kinsmen. All are punished.” Montague in his grief acknowledges Juliet’s love his son and will set monument of gold in her resemblance in Verona and Capulet stated with Romeo by her side. Fate, destiny or kismet does not matter how you call it, the tragic ill-fated love story of Romeo and Juliet demonstrates to us that no matter what best intentions someone may have or how you plan your life there is a greater force out there that has your future planned out for you, so whatever it maybe make the most of your life in a positive way, so that when fate intervenes you know in your heart that you did what you could , in your control, to live life to the fullest and that you had choice and that fate did not rule your whole life. ...

...Practical WLAN security Abstract This report covers the basics security standards in today’s wireless networks, how they work, existing flaws and vulnerability’s. We will go trough the basic architecture of 802.11, the security it provides like WEP, WPA and WPA2. Further more we will go trough some practical experiment exploiting the flaws described in the article. The result of our practical experiments show upon how easy it is to break encryptions and deploying Evil twins, even with very little understanding of the security structure. 2.1 802.11 Standards The architecture of the wireless LANs is specified by the 802.11 standard created by IEEE [1]. There are a few versions of the standard with differences in frequency and speed. Briefly these are a few of the current standards 802.11 (1997): 2.4Ghz, 2Mbps 802.11a (1999): 5Ghz, 54Mbps 802.11b (1999): 2.4Ghz, 11Mbps 802.11g (2003): 2.4Ghz, 54Mbps Even when things like speed and frequency differ, most things are the same as the original 802.11 standard. They all are using the same medium access protocol, CSMA/CS and have features for increasing range by the cost of speed. They also support the two connection modes of ad-hoc and infrastructure, but since this reports is about practical WLAN security we'll not go any further in on that and just care about the infrastructure mode. 1. Introduction Where ever you go, either it’s an workplace, coffeeshop, library or even a park there is a high chance today that...

This generally involves borrowing characteristics from human intelligence, and applying them as algorithms in a computer friendly way. A more or less flexible or efficient approach can be taken depending on the requirements established, which influences how artificial the intelligent behavior appears. Humans throughout history have always sought to mimic the appearance, mobility, functionality, intelligent operation, and thinking process of biological creatures. This field of biologically inspired technology, having the moniker biometrics, has evolved from making static copies of human and animals in the form of statues to the emergence of robots that operate with realistic appearance and behavior. This paper covers the current state-of-the-art and challenges to making biomimetic robots using artificial muscles. Keywords:...

She had prepared a very long message for her. 15 THINGS I LOVE AND HATE ABOUT YOU AT THE SAME TIME is the starter of her message. And she began typing and while she did so, she can’t help but smile. A sweet smile if it’s possible knowing such gesture in the lips is sweet. I love you for being there with me when I cried at my special day because someone at school bullied me. Thank you for making my day blissful in the end. Though, I hate you that time too for I thought you won’t be there for me, well maybe I’m wrong, I’ve always been anyway about you.
