VI. Issues and Concerns After evaluating, the PCA Health Care Hospitals has discovered that they were suffering from loss. The management has to make an action in making a move to maintain their quality services and still manage to minimize their possible expenses. They have suggested to their vice president to cut the drug benefits, minimize the extra test to the terminal patients, and to bill the patients with a physician’s rate while the actual service/s was done by an assistant physician only. Their suggested solutions might able to help them answer their problems relating to budget their cost but this will also result a dissatisfied customers which will lead to less profit also. Another problem is the treatment of the hospital to the patients. They’ve divided them into four groups – the healthy elderly, fragile elderly, demented and dying elderly and high-cost or uninsured elderly. The elderly that is assigned to the first group which is the healthy one would have the most contenting care. Given this solution doesn’t really help the hospital because again, the customers might be disappointed with treatments especially if they belong to the lower groups. The hospitals should consider honoring their duties to treat all patients equally to really satisfy them. Diminishing the nurse’s union have also affected their work. They were slowing down and were starting to file a petition to the upper management. Destabilizing their union would minimize their salaries expense and other benefits.
