Over the years I have had many different jobs that had many different incentive plans. None that were really effective but it did get some of the slacking workers to pick up the pace. First is piece rate incentive and that means the more you produce the more you will get paid. I always enjoyed this one because the hard working people in a company can really do a lot for themselves when they have this incentive. It is really hard to find a good paying job and this incentive plan makes a not so good job a little better. Second is the incentive to get missed days back if you work so many days straight without a call-off or tardy. This really helps people get to work and get to work when they are supposed to be there. The third incentive is giving someone recognition or a reward for being the best at what they do. In every job you will always have one person that is always better than everyone else. Why shouldn’t they get something to compensate for all their hard work? All incentive plans are something to give employees to let them know they are valued. Everyone wants to get some recognition and they deserve it if they are doing their job exceptional. Incentive plans are a great way to make people work harder or continue to work hard. It allows an employee to take their job to the next level and show the company what to do.
