You can fight back acne with over-the-counter products. Benzoyl peroxide is one of them. The benzoyl part pulls the peroxide into the pore and releases oxygen that destroys the bacteria that cause acne. It is like two-in-one drug. The benzoyl also suppresses the fatty acid cells that irritates the pores.

Benzoyl peroxide comes in different forms such as liquids, lotions, gels and creams, but it is best to use water-based gel as it is the least irritating to the skin.

Use Tea tree Oil to tame inflamed acne
Tea tree oil (Melaleuca alternifolia) is extracted from the leaves of the tea tree through the process of steam distillation. The oil is a powerful antiseptic that can fight against different types of fungi and bacteria, even those resistant to antibiotic treatment.
Tea tree oil has received several acclaims when it comes to fighting bacteria and fungi. It has been found to stop the growth of different kinds of bacteria and seems to curb inflammation. The oil blends with the skin’s natural oil, creating an inhospitable environment for bacteria.
To use tea tree oil for acne, dilute a few drops with 30 drops of witch hazel. Apply it to skin once or twice daily using cotton swab. While it is gentler than Benzoyl peroxide, do not overuse it as it can dry out your skin, causing overproduction of sebum and making acne even worse.
