KOTA FIBRES
What does the forecast show? Do you like how it is constructed?

The company has projected gross sales to reach 90.9 million rupees in 2001, an forecasted growth of approximately 15 million rupees over the previous year. In spite of the large increase, there are several additional financial factors which need to be taken into account in evaluating the forecast. For instance, Total asset turnover gives an understanding of the efficiency with which the firm uses its assets to generate sales. Total Asset Turnover in this particular case is suboptimal at best. In 2000, Kota had a total asset turnover ratio of .18, with a ratio value of .17 in projected for 2001. This shows major inefficiencies in the management of assets by the company, as it only turns its assets over .18 times a year. They may want to increase this ratio number by increasing their amount of total assets.

Kota Fibres as a company (as far as its financial statements are concerned) is very capable of satisfying its short-term obligations as they come due. With a current ratio of 3.24 and quick ratio of 2.38, Kota is operating within acceptable levels (acceptable values are 2.0 and 1.0, respectively). However, the forecasted ratio for 2001 shows that this ratio drops to 1.5:1, which is below the acceptable level of 2.0 set for a manufacturing firm. This means they will have some problem paying their bills on time with the projected production and sales levels. Kota Fibres, in 2000, had a quick ratio of 2.38:1; which is well above the acceptable level of 1.0. However, the calculations show a decline from 2000 and 2001 of 1; this drives home the point that Kota will have issues paying on their short-term obligations may be a problem moving forward.

The statements showed an Inventory Turnover of 51.62 for 2000 and 34.72 projected for 2001. This increase is a step in the wrong direction.

...access shared storage as if it were a drive directly attached to the server. When a host wants to access a storage device on the SAN, it sends out a block-based access request for the storage device.” This is great for maintaining information as it can be easily accessible and very clean but at the same time it can also be the best and safest prevention technique against hackers. The price is worth the amount of high tech options you can get with an SAN to keep your information safe from within. “Storage area networks are managed centrally and Fibre Channel SANs have the reputation of being expensive, complex and difficult to manage. The emergence of iSCSI has reduced these challenges by encapsulating SCSI commands into IP packets for transmission over an Ethernet connection, rather than a Fibre Channel connection. Instead of learning, building and managing two networks -- an Ethernet local area network (LAN) for user communication and a Fibre Channel SAN for storage -- an organization can now use its existing knowledge and infrastructure for both LANs and SANs.” If...

Marketing

...1.0 INTRODUCTION 2.1 THE NATURE OF MARKETING Marketing is understanding the needs of the situation, and the way resources and people can be applied to it, and then reacting appropriately, as opposed to following a formula. To put it simple, marketing is a process cycle as follows: i) Customer buys or potential customer is contacted. ii) Finding out how the customer liked the product or what is needed. iii) Analyzing these data and creating a plan that includes goals and strategy. iv) Implement the plan which results in the customer’s buying the product. v) Repeating the cycle starting with step (i) to make a better product sold with a better plan and continuously keeping this cycle going. 2.2 VALUE OF PRODUCT The value of a product may be conceptualized as the relationship between the consumers’ perceived benefits in relation to the perceived costs of receiving these benefits. Value = Benefit / Cost Value is thus subjective (i.e, a function of consumer’s estimation) and relational (i.e, both benefits and cost must be positive values). 2.3 VALUE PROPOSITION DEFINITION Value proposition is a powerful succinct statement that will: i) Describe how you are unique, and therefore differentiate you and your product/service from your competitors in your market. ii) Resonate directly to the company brand – yours and your prospects. iii) Give you insight about how to effectively market your product/service. This statement...

Reward Management

...Employee's rewards ukessays.com /dissertations/management/employees-rewards.php CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1.0 Overview In any organization, employee's rewards usually given to attract, motivate and retain the employees to stay longer and contribute a good quality services to ensure the successful of the organization; in other words, rewards play an important role in creating, building and maintaining the commitment among employees with the purpose to ensure high standard of performances and workforce stability. According to the individual - organizational exchange theme, individuals enter the organization with special qualification and skill, desire and goals, and expect in return a work setting where they can use their skill, satisfy their desire, and achieve their goals (Mottaz, 1988). At the minimum, employees expect their organization to provide fair pay, safe working condition, and fair treatment. (Beer, Spector, Lawrence, Mills, & Walton, 1984). It simply implies that employees offer or increase their commitment when organization meets employees' expectation regarding fulfillment of their important needs. Thus, the exchange perspective explains organizational commitment as a function of work rewards and work values (Lambert, 2000; Mottazz, 1988), and suggests the importance of work rewards for continuously encouraging employees. According to exchange theory and reciprocity norm, employees repay the rewards received from organization through increase commitment to the organization...

City Living and Transportation

...City Living and Transportation… In pursuit to making Kota Kinabalu city a livable place. Part 1 Buses has been the main mode of public transportation in the city of Kota Kinabalu. We are talking about the scheduled bus services, the mini buses and taxis that had been allowed to ferry passengers. Despite being perceived as less comfortable, less physically attractive, the buses are still the main mode to function as carriers to bring passengers to their destinations. This article aims to provide an overview of the status and its importance to the majority of the  commuters in making Kota Kinabalu city a livable place. It is crucial to identify the reason why bus has not become a popular mean in attracting and providing community commuting service to the city transportation since this information is a useful input to the policy maker. The reasons are linked to several issues such as public bus current level of performance, increasing number of private vehicle on road and the absence of specific plan and policy as well as  enforcement follow ups to improve public bus transportation. Observation shows that public transportation by bus is an important mode of public transportation in Kota Kinabalu and would  continue to be so in the future due to the demand from the lower income earners. Therefore, the government should seriously consider the buses and other similar mode like trams in the public transportation planning by providing specific plan for its future development and the will...

Summermall

...Summer Mall is the place of pleasure that focus on people around Kota Samarahan. The number of consumers that usually go to Summer Mall is teenagers and working people. If I work as the management of Summer Mall, Kota Samarahan, I would suggest to increase the number of games and arcade in the Summer Mall that would be age appropriate for teenagers around 15-25 years old. The current arcade at Summer Mall is focus for children. This is so that children can stay there while the guardian can shop without worries. If the arcade would focus on teenagers too this evokes pleasure in teenage consumers. Therefore they would prefer to stay and enjoy more of the shopping experience when at the Summer Mall. Moreover, I would suggest to create a health club inside the Summer Mall, inside the health club will include spa, massage, manicure and pedicure and gym. This is focus for the working people. They would be busy during their hard days of work, therefore, whenever they come to Summer Mall, they can relax and reduce their stress of work and more enjoy their shopping experience in Summer Mall without feeling tired from everyday work. Summer Mall building is itself shown for a place of fun and excitement. The colors of the buildings are full of bright color to invoke feelings of enjoyment. I would also suggest every week would hold a weekly event of fun and enjoyment for people of any kind of age. This would be family oriented thus promote families to come to Summer Mall and enjoy the event...
