Abstract

Kudler Fine Foods is developing a new Frequent Shopper Program. This program will track customer purchases through the Frequent Shopper Program to award loyalty points for redemption. This paper will discuss the potential legal, ethical, and information security concerns related to this program.

Kudler Fine Foods Frequent Shopper Program

Introduction Kudler Fine Foods is interested in developing a system that will allow them to track all purchasing behavior at the individual customer level. This system will work with a partnership with a loyalty point program to offer high value incentives. Kudler Foods would like to use this information to refine process and offerings to help with customer satisfaction. The information will help identify the customers looking for high quality and specialized items. Rather than provided simple in store discounts based on frequency of purchases like lower end stores Kudler wants to provide a loyalty points program that can be redeemed for high end gifts, airline upgrades, or other specialty foods. This program will help them to refine their ordering and inventory processes, and provide an overall higher standard of customer service while maintaining customer loyalty. There are potentially legal, ethical, and information security concerns related to this system.

Legal Considerations of Frequent Shopper Program

Kudler Fine Foods has to consider the legal considerations in the development of the Frequent Shopper Program. It is the obligation of Kudler to protect the personal information of customers. They must also inform the customer of how the information will be collected, how it will be used, who will be using it, etc.
