Introduction Kudler Fine Foods is a known food store with top quality products from the finest baked goods, meats, produce and packaged foods. It’s located in the San Diego metropolitan area with currently three chain stores and in the pursuit of expanding in a much wider market. It is a top of the line food market with well knowledgeable and experienced employees, which contribute the best customer service for a pleasant experience. Frequent Shopper Program When a business chooses to expand and grow as much as possible, it doesn’t just come down to new locations, it starts in the sales and marketing department to take a step in inquiring new ways and systems to get the revenue increase. Revenue increases with much new clients, and continuing business with past or current clients. The sales and marketing team have developed a new system to keep those numbers rolling, and allow for the expansion of the business with its new frequent shopper program. The frequent shopper program is designed to maintain current relationship, and develop new clients. This program offers clients a point system that will allow the client to build its points by the frequent business they receive from Kudler Fine Foods. The clients that are currently great loyal clients whom constantly return for the business will now have more reason to keep looking forward to returning for that point. The program will also allow catching new clients attention with the point system, which is redeemed for high-end gifts, airline first-class upgrades or other specialty foods. The new program in place the goal is to encourage and increase customer’s business loyalty, which can also allow to better monitoring foods and buying demands. With the new program in place, and successful outcomes it should increase the revenue within time and a decrease in product costs by monitoring the customer’s needs as well. But this new program must first be fully analyzed in preparing itself for the worst measures.
Legal Issues In order for the new system to be successful it must follow and abide by the laws in the state that the system is going to be implemented in. In order to maintain, update, and be able to release rewards to the clients, the company must receive and securely maintain customer profiles, which can contain personal information. By recording and maintaining clienteles identifiable information in their database, the company must also be able to provide top security to that said database to prevent theft or lost ID’s of the clients. Kudler Foods would be a hundred percent liable and would be facing fines for the misplaced information. Hiring a specialized IT to fully monitor the database can cost a percentage of the new increased revenue, if that would be the case. If the system was to slowly increase in revenue the company would suffer a decrease in revenue or high end work demand with the constant straight flow of the revenue with the new IT department. Without the IT, if there were to be a security breach the California law S.B. 1386 states that the company would have to fully notify in disclosure to the client of the said breach which could potentially lead to lawsuit or other bad reputation for the company.

Ethical Issues The concerns to the new programs point system would be the misuse of the client’s personal information, whether lost or stolen. Before the company inquires the clients Intel a legal agreement should be put in place to prevent the misuse and prevent any civil claims filed on the company or any unethical actions. This ethical agreement will prevent other unethical actions to be used in violating the clients personal information such as pipeline marketing, meaning sharing this information and causing a chain reaction to constant spaming, constant unnecessary cold calls by other sellers or straight misuse information by third parties.
Information Security Concerns Database information is never always fully protected; information can be taken at any moment and in a variety of ways. Implementing the new system will leave a concern with clients who provide home addresses, telephone, or email information to the company. These types of information can be stolen and used as a marketing contact list by third parties who will constantly annoy Kudlers clients and will eventually lose its reputation with the clients. Constant data servers would need to be maintained to prevent any breaches. Any information that isn’t being used in a certain given date should be removed along with other information that the company does not need. Another solution would be encrypting the data, which would prevent the data from being used if stolen or allowing service with a virtual data server to handle the maintenance of the information. Information gathered, should always be maintained securely for the new system to properly be successful in providing its service without a bump on the road.
Conclusion
Kudlers Fine Foods new frequent shopper program would allow a 7.5% increase in revenue if properly executed following a and implementing the concerns stated. The data gathered of the clients should remain simple and constantly updating the new and current clients data and removing past clients after a given set date.
