Getting started. Open the website listed above and on the top of the screen select the tab marked Pickup Coil. 2. Make observations & draw conclusions. Add a field meter to the default screen and drag that field meter so it measures the magnetic field in the middle of the pickup coil. Your screen should look something like what you see to the right, on Screen 1. When the light bulb lights up it indicates the electricity has been generated. Grab the magnet and move it around and observe what happens to the strength of the magnetic field and to the light bulb. Based on your observations what conditions must happen for electricity to be generated.
Answer: Observations-As the magnetic field is moved from the bottom of the coil and moves around the coil from left to the top and then the right, the strength of the magnetic field increased; therefore, it can be concluded that the strength of the magnetic field affects the amount of electricity generated. 3. Make observations & draw conclusions. Move the magnet back and forth, fast and then slow. What general rule can you make about the speed of the magnet and electrical generation?
Answer: Observations- Flux is proportional to the field strength. It depends on the rate of change of the magnetic field, moving the magnet quickly will result in a higher generation of electricity. 4. Make observations & draw conclusions. Leave the magnet in just one place and using the button on the right control panel of the applet, flip the polarity of the magnet. Flip the polarity of the magnet fast then slow and observe the amount of electricity that is generated. What general rule can you make about

Anonymous Marking System

...ANONYMOUS MARKING SYSTEM Author’s name Course number Instructor’s name Date Student anonymity marking system is a system used in marking of examinations or assignments whereby the identity of the student is not disclosed to the examiner. This is mainly used to ensure that the students’ performance is only based on their merit in exams. Bias in marking may occur due to various reasons. Some of the most significant reasons are race, gender and personal knowledge of the student. This system has been in practice in many universities across the world. The same principles are also being applied to coursework which forms a large part of students’ cumulative assessment. Anonymous marking is not only helpful to the students but also to the stakeholders and examiners since it prevents them from accusations of bias and bullying. Universities and institutes that use this system issue random identification codes to candidates prior to examinations or simply use the student’s number which appears in the student’s identification cards. While this policy may be time consuming, it is more preferable since it prevents possible cases of conscious or unconscious bias. And, more importantly, it creates satisfaction among students and upholds the integrity of examiners. Therefore, Universities needs to implement this system to ensure fair and honest marking practices. From a series of studies conducted in the 1990s, it was proven that bias in marking may occur due to various reasons. The...

Kaspersky Lab

...Kaspersky Lab: from Russia with anti-virus I will analyze the study case by putting focus on three important questions and points. First I will perform the internal and external environment analysis that Kaspersky Lab faced in year 2011. The internal environment can further be categorized in strengths and weaknesses of the company. It is inevitably that such a successful, fast growing company relies on many strengths. KL had initiatives and tendency to attract and retain qualified employees. Their skills and competences helped to delivering high-quality services and products. The products and services offered are technologically superior. Beside quality, their abilities also contribute to early detection of various threats. It was the first company to identify major shift in hackers behavior. The company ability to motivate and reward its employees is just a one piece of the strength puzzle. Another key strength is innovation. The constant updates and their pace with the changes and trends in the market is a key advantage over the other competitors. Furthermore, KL was the first company to introduce hourly anti-virus updates, leaving the competitors lacking with only daily updates. An important strength which helped KL to be successful in foreign emerging markets were the localized solutions. KL has great ability to launch products which will satisfy the needs of a certain market. Another strength is their webpage, which offers free trials, information and guidance for the customers...

...Forever 21 a Global Company The global retailer that I have chosen is Forever 21 because they are a well-known retailer. Forever 21 is a well-known chain store and mostly targets young teenage to college age women. The store was founded in Los Angeles, California in 1984 by Do Won Chang and his wife Jin Sook Chang. The first fast fashion store opened in April 21 in 1984 and has grown nationally and globally since then. The market for Forever 21 has grown drastically within the past couple of years and they have ventured from just women and men’s clothes. Forever 21 carries a very wide assortment of merchandise and now caters to children and plus size women. The fashions of Forever 21 have a lower price point than most other chain stores so the fact that they are affordable items to attain and manufacturing is cheaper it is easier to expand their stores across the globe. Forever reaches its audience mobile all across the glove via the Forever 21 app because the CRM enables the brand to research their consumers by knowing their demographics and what they like and catering to the consumer and allowing interactions with the brand to be easier. “We’re looking to scale our online and mobile business faster, drive more return on ad spend and increase revenue through paid channels. Sociomantic and AdX are helping us accomplish these goals.”( Gerard Florendo) Forever 21’s consumers is very technology savvy and looks convenience so I think this approach works well for them along with...

Niklaus Wirth created the Pascal language to “1) make available a language suitable for teaching programming as a systematic discipline based on fundamental concepts clearly by the language, and 2) to define a language whose implementations could be both reliable and efficient on then-available computers. In 1972 the C programming language was developed by Dennis Ritchie. C was created to work with the system Unix. “Unix gives C such advanced features as dynamic variables, multitasking, interrupt handling, forking, and strong, low-level, input-output. Because of this, C is very commonly used to program operating systems such as Unix, Windows, the MacOS, and Linux.” In the 1980s the popular programming language was C++. C++ was developed at Bell Laboratories. C++ is a general purpose multi-paradigm spanning compiled language that has both high-level and low-level languages’ features.
