Introduction:
Natural selection relies upon the assumption that all organisms produce more offspring than can survive in an environment demonstration limited resources. The heritable traits that are best suited for a particular environment should be passed on at a greater frequency then those less adaptive traits. Natural selection is unique in that it leads to adaptive change, and these changes are likely to lead to increased survival and reproductive success. To sum up, natural selection is that organisms can survive only because they can suit to the changed environment which means those organisms also need to change with the environment all the time.
Hypothesis: during the experiment, the forks out of all the “predators” should survive, and the peas out of all those “preys” will be survived.

Material and Metnods: We will use 4 kind of beans (preys items) which are fava beans, white beans, red beans and peas. And we also have 4 mouthparts (predators) which are knives, forks, spoons and foreceps. First, we get 100 ml for each prey and spread them on the ground. And the students will be divided into 4 groups with those 4 different predators. Each group of predators include 6 student. And all of the predators will have a cup which will serve as the stomach into which the prey will be placed. We also have a timer and a security that will make sure the process is fair. Here we begin the game. The predators will be gathered, they will be instructed not to allow their cups to touch the ground. Only their mouthparts can pick up the beans. The beans must keep in their stomach. The predators will have 30 seconds to pick-up as many prey items as they can. When time is called, the feeding stop. We will record down the result which is how many beans and predators survive. The predators are ranked according to the number of prey they pick up. The half of the predators that pick up the most beans survive, and the rest predators die as a result. And this is present as our first generation. Then we will repeat the game for the 2nd and 3rd generation. For the 2nd generation, each surviving predator (here are forks and foreceps) should pair up. Then we got 12 forks and 12 foreceps as predators of generation 2. Also we need to count the survived prey and double the volume of them. And we repeat our game again which the predators pick up the prey items, also the time is 30 seconds. And we also write down the data and prepare our 3rd generation. This process continues until the third generations form (predator and prey) and “feeding frenzy” #3 takes place. Once surviving predators are determined, and beans volumes are measured, the “game” is over.

Result:
During the experiment we can find for those prey items that the spoon and knife did really bad, they even “die out” in the 1st generation. While the fork and frecept did really good, the forecep can still survive for the 2nd generantion, and the forks survived to the end. And out of all the predators, the red beans and peas did much better than those fava and white beans. The fava beans nearly dispeared in the 3rd generation. However the peas, they are the most successful survivors from the 1st to the 3rd generation, they always keep their survivors to be the most during all the prey.

Discussion: The graph can tell us that during the experiment, the bigger and lighter color prey will decrease much quickly than those smaller and darker preys. It represents as the survivors of those green peas are the most while the fava beans disappear most quickly. I think this is because the fava beans are big and white which they can easily be picked up by these predators. And the green peas, they are too small to see and pick up, therefore they can survive longer than others. And the predators, fork is the winner out of all the predators while knife and spoons are losers. Because the knife and spoons are not suited to pick up those round beans, they died out during the 1st generation. But the fork is very convenient to get up the beans, therefore the fork predators can survive successfully. I think the experiment is very important for our later lives. Because we human beings are predators in some forms, we need to find food for us to live. And the experiment tells us that those predators and preys who can survive are because they know the way natural select did. Therefore, we need to change ourselves to suit to our entire environment which we can live better and longer.
