Lagos vs. Jacksonville
There are different places all over the world which are similar and different when it comes to some factors. Lagos is a place located in Nigeria and Jacksonville is another place situated in Florida, United States. Although I was born and schooled in Lagos, I prefer Jacksonville because it is more comfortable compared to Lagos depending on factors such as; traffic, power supply, security, and medical related issues.
Some people have their own opinions on issues which may not be the same with others. It is true that both Lagos and Jacksonville are cities with people that make use of Uber, private cars, buses and other similar modes of transportation, but when it comes to traffic, Lagos city is unbearable. Even those who have private vehicles do complain. This doesn’t mean that people do not experience traffic in Jacksonville, we do experience traffic as well, but it is nothing compared to what I have experienced in Lagos. Although in Jacksonville we seldom experience power failures due to severe weather conditions such as; tropical storms, hurricanes and so on, the fact remains that it is more reliable compared to Lagos. Also, in Jacksonville, you would be notified of any changes to come regarding power supply, but it is different in Lagos city. In Lagos, there is no alert or whatsoever regarding power outage; sometimes I would just come home to meet no power which is terrible. In contrast to Jacksonville, there is no discipline in supplying power to homes because there are some homeowners in Lagos who would connect electricity cables illegally to get their source of power. I have never seen such cases in Jacksonville because there are consequences for such illegal
